Story Stones!

Oral language is the system of communication involving speaking and listening, using spoken words and sentences to express and understand ideas, feelings, and information. Speaking and listening are the first tools we need to learn to read and write! When we practice developing our oral language skills by sharing stories with others, we hear sounds, consider word meanings, practice using correct grammar and work on the social skill of active listening. All of these things support us on our journey to becoming fluent readers and writers!

Telling stories has been a beautiful way we have been connecting as a student group with teachers, and we have been busily practicing telling stories and representing them on stones ahead of our "Open Art Rooms" starting this Friday the 5th of September!
