St Simon Swimming Squad

Well done to all swimmers selected for the St Simon the Apostle Swimming Squad this year!

Swimmers competing in A events who finish 1st or 2nd will qualify for the Knox Division competition on Tuesday 10 March.

Girls may swim in Boys/Mixed events if their times are competitive. Swimmers can also compete up an age group in relay events, while swimming in their own age group for individual races.

An Permission form with full details will be sent later this week. Information about the Wantirna District Swimming Carnival and training sessions is outlined below. We encourage all team members to attend training to feel confident and ready on the day.

Date: Tuesday 17th February

Morning Departing Time: 8:45am. All competitors including emergency swimmers arrive in the school atrium by 8:30am.

Arrival back to school: 1:35pm

Venue: Monash Aquatic and Rec Centre, 625 Waverley Road, Glen Waverley

Transportation: Students in the team will be transported to the venue by bus.

Swimming Squad Training: We encourage all competitors including our back up swimmers as emergency swimmers to attend the training session on offer so they are prepared for their selected strokes in the competition. The sessions will take place on the following dates and times:

Students will need to bring their bathers, goggles, and a towel to these training sessions. A St Simon staff member will be present to support the students in their training.

Students will need to be collected from the pool no later than 8:30am so that you have ample time to transport your child to school. We ask parents to be present at the pool during the training sessions.

Payment for this event:

For this event, the school is doing its best to reduce the cost for parents. Therefore there will only be one payment for the District Swimming competition. Please ensure you log onto CDFpay to pay if you child is participating in the District Swimming competition.

Payment must be made before the competition date. The tab for payment for the District Swimming will be open this Friday 6th February.

St Simon the Apostle 2026 Swimming Squad : Wantirna District

Competitors are allowed a maximum of 2 individual events as well as relay events and the butterfly event. Only competitors only in the A event who come either 1st or 2nd progress through to Knox Division competition. Girls are able to swim in the Boys/Mixed competition. Students can swim individual events in their age group as well as an age group above in the relay events.

EMERGENCY COMPETITORS LIST

Emergency competitors listed below will be used in the event a student is ill or unavailable to attend the District Swimming Carnival. These will be at the discretion of the Interschool Sport Coordinator.
