Welcome Back – Term 3, 2026
Welcome back, everyone! I hope you all enjoyed a restful and restorative break, and that your children are coming back refreshed, energised, and ready to learn. We are genuinely excited about what Term 3 has in store, and I know our staff share that enthusiasm in equal measure.
Our teachers have spent time over the break planning lessons that are both engaging and appropriately challenging, and there is a wonderful range of excursions and incursions organised across the term that will bring learning to life in and beyond the classroom. There is plenty to look forward to.
One highlight this term will be our Multi-Age Day, which will centre around Book Week — always a favourite in our school calendar. Our beloved dress-up day will of course be part of the fun, and we can't wait to see the creativity our students and families bring to it. More details will follow closer to the date.
We will also be continuing our SWPBS journey this term, with an ongoing focus on the values that sit at the heart of our school community: Respect, Kindness, and Resilience. Towards the end of last term, we noticed an increase in behaviours in the yard that were aimed at upsetting and agitating others during games. Our teachers have worked hard to design follow-up SWPBS sessions that address these situations directly and constructively. As a school, we are committed to building a strong learning community grounded in our shared values. We won't always get it perfect, but we are genuinely committed to growing and improving, and to holding consistent expectations for all students - both in how they behave and how they learn.
One change you will notice this term is a renewed focus from our staff on reaching out to families by phone. We want these calls to go both ways - celebrating the wonderful things your child is doing, as well as keeping you informed and seeking your support when behavioural matters arise that need a team approach. We firmly believe that strong relationships between home and school make a real difference for our students, and this is one practical way we can strengthen that partnership. To make sure you don't miss these calls, please check that your contact details are up to date on Compass. If at any time you would like to speak with a teacher or staff member, please don't hesitate to call the office on 03 9752 8555 - our office staff will be very happy to pass your message on.
Term 3 is shaping up to be a busy, vibrant and rewarding one, and we are looking forward to every bit of it. Here's to a great term ahead.
Please feel free to pop in for a chat with either Carrie, Brendan or I, should you wish to discuss anything.
Our doors are always open!
Take care,
Mr. Dale Blythman
