Principal's Report
Dear Parents,
It is nice to see that so many of our children are using the new area under our beautiful tree. This spot will be further enhanced when we place some new seats around the tree. Our School Council is always looking at improving the school and has plans to further improve the spaces where children can play. Over the summer holidays the area next to the down ball courts will be reimagined. The area will have seating with the named bricks that were purchased for 150th celebration. Next year our school council has plans to fix the area that surrounds the Gaga ball pit.
We have started the long process of placing students in grades for 2027. This is done over a month. The process considers friendships, academics, teacher aide availability, teacher, historical issues and even for some students’, classroom location. I appreciate parent understanding and help with the process.
Please find below the list for where teachers are placed for 2027. We will be welcoming back Penny Fredericks from maternity leave mid-term one, but at the same time we will be saying goodbye to Jess Banfield who will be leaving to go on maternity leave. The line up of quality teachers is impressive, we are so lucky to have so much talent at WYPS. The Prep team will also have other staff rostered on to support them.

This lovely email was written by a Private School Basketball Coach about our boys and Kyah one of our mums that coaches the team. Well done to both Kyah and the boys for 100% following our school values.
Hey Kyah, I’m just as proud of your boys, and the values you have instilled in them.Your boys are lucky to have you as their coach. You are installing great values in them and they will be forever Grateful, for you teaching them great sportsmanship. Just as I for your sportsmanship and gesture. As I said, I have really enjoyed playing against your boys over the years. Even bumping into you outside of the basketball stadium.3 years of coaching these boys, my son is the only one who was been there the whole journey, and wants me to continue doing it. Even though he has never scored a goal until last night. Thanks to you guys, he still fronts up with a smile on his face. And it’s never let it defeat him or want to throw in the towel. Which I would never blame him if he did. He could not wipe the smile off his face last night. 🙏🙏🙏You are amazing and from the bottom of my heart, I will always be grateful. There are good people in the world like yourself and your team.
In the last newsletter I said I was currently reading Territory by Judy Nunn, I’m now three quarters of the way through. I loved the start then I started wondering where it was heading at about the half-way mark, but without giving it away something unbelievable just happened and I can’t wait to finish the last quarter. I’m sure Judy has more shocks in store for me! Great book that I’m glad I persisted with!
Remember when things aren’t going that well, escape to the wonderful world of a book and all will feel better. I’ll see you around the school soon.
