Ultimate Frisbee: Girls Claim Silver in a Thrilling Victorian Final

Our Ultimate Frisbee teams travelled to Royal Park in Melbourne for the School Sport Victoria State Championships, taking on some of the best primary school teams from across Victoria.

After months of developing their skills during Sport and Physical Education lessons, our students had the opportunity to put their throwing, catching, movement and teamwork into practice on the state stage. Both teams delivered excellent performances throughout the day, demonstrating skill, determination and outstanding sportsmanship against quality opposition.

Our Girls team finished 2nd in Victoria, claiming the silver medal after a remarkable run through the competition. The team reached the Grand Final and fought hard in a tightly contested match, ultimately going down by just one point. While the result was heartbreaking, reaching the State Grand Final and finishing as the second-best team in Victoria is an outstanding achievement.

Our Boys team finished 5th in Victoria, delivering an excellent day of Ultimate Frisbee. They competed strongly against high-quality opposition, showcasing their skills, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

Congratulations to every student who represented Trafalgar Primary School at the State Championships. Both teams should be congratulated for the way they competed, supported one another and represented our school on the state stage.

Game, Set, Match: Trafalgar Serves Up Tennis Success

Our students recently represented Trafalgar Primary School at the West Gippsland Divisional Hot Shots Tennis Competition at Drouin Tennis Club, with four teams taking to the courts for a fantastic day of competition.

Hot Shots Tennis uses modified courts, equipment and rules, giving students the opportunity to develop their tennis skills while competing against other local schools. Players also take responsibility for self-refereeing their matches, making fair play, honesty and sportsmanship important parts of the day.

A huge congratulations to our Girls A team, who finished 1st overall to become Divisional Champions! Their outstanding performance earns them a place at the Gippsland Regional competition, where they will take on the next level of competition.

Our other teams also put in strong efforts throughout the day, with Boys A finishing 5th, while Girls B and Boys B both finished 8th. It was great to see all four teams competing, putting their skills into practice and supporting one another.

Congratulations to all students who represented Trafalgar so well. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day possible, and best of luck to our Girls A team as they prepare for the Regional competition next week!

Note - Foundation is doing a whole cohort song together called Zimbole. The theme will be AFRICA. So, students will be invited to dress in leopard print, furs, as a lion/monkey/elephant etc.

Choir

Our Choir is busy rehearsing Christmas carols in preparation for a special performance at the Trafalgar Community Carols at McGregor Park on Wednesday 2 December.

This year, we are preparing four Christmas favourites:

🎵 Jingle Bell Rock🎵 We Wish You a Merry Christmas

🎵 Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer🎵 The 12 Days of Christmas

Choir rehearsals are held every Thursday during the second half of lunchtime in the Music Room.

There is no cost and no sign-up required, however, students who join the Choir are expected to attend rehearsals regularly, particularly in the lead-up to our performance.

We’re looking forward to spreading some Christmas cheer with our wonderful Choir!

Instrumental Concert

Our Instrumental Program will finish the year with a special showcase featuring some of our talented Instrumental students in the Gym on Thursday 10 December.

Around mid-term, Instrumental teachers will send home invitations to students who are willing and ready to perform.

If you would particularly like your child to perform, please contact their Instrumental teacher to discuss their readiness and whether they would be suitable for the concert.

We’re looking forward to celebrating our students’ musical talents!

Have any questions? Please feel free to get in touch. I’m happy to help!

Footy Colours Day – A Fabulous End to Term 3!

What a fabulous way to celebrate the last day of Term 3! Students and staff donned the colours of their favourite sporting teams for our annual Footy Colours Day, and it was wonderful to see our school filled with so much colour, team spirit and excitement.

Even better, our school community came together to raise an amazing $227-20 for Fight Cancer Foundation, supporting children and young people living with cancer.

If you would like to learn more about Footy Colours Day and the important work it supports, please visit the Footy Colours Day website.

Thank you again for your wonderful support. We look forward to bringing you some more exciting fundraising events in Term 4!
