Principal Report

Dear Families,
Today is Education Support Appreciation Day. We are so lucky at Dana Street Primary School to have such a wonderful group of Education Support Staff who work with us. Our ES staff do so many things, from helping in classrooms, to supporting students with their learning 1:1, to paying the bills and answering the phones, to looking after our school buildings, to making us cheese toasties and even looking after us when we are sick and injured. Our ES staff do all of that and so much more.
This morning at Assembly, each of our classes presented our ES Staff with a certificate of thanks for all they do. Thank you, Jillian, Sarah, Kim, Penny, Stella, Liv, Loretta, Sue, Sharon, Chloe, Claudia and Leah. We appreciate you.
GRIP Leadership Conference
This week our student school leaders represented us at the GRIP Leadership conference. The students learnt about integrity and how to be a good leader in your school. An example of this was being honest and calling out other people when they are not doing the right thing.
The leaders also learnt how to make a change by writing down what you thought the school needed the most and what the school actually needed. They also learnt that often people do what is easy, but leaders do what is necessary. It was a fantastic day and thanks to Kellie Healy and pre-service teacher Sophie for attending with our students.
Sovereign Soccer
On Tuesday, we had a group of Year 5/6 Students representing Dana Street at the Division Soccer. The team, coached by Mr Jones, won 3 of their games and had an amazing day.
Bunnings BBQ - Sunday
A big thank you to all the volunteers who filled our Bunnings BBQ Roster. We are looking forward to a big day of cooking sausages. If you are in town on Sunday, come and say hello and support the team and school by purchasing a sausage. We hope to see you there.
Have a wonderful week,
Helen
