Term 2 Week 2

Well, we started the week with bang with our first ever combined Athletics carnival with Collingwood College. The weather was great, the students were swift and the sausages were plentiful. A big shout-out to the staff that made it happen from both Fitzroy and Collingwood and a special mention to our senior students who were able to participate this year and really brought their A-game to the track. Whilst we have been recovering from our athletic adventures there have also been a number of other events on this week, our Student Representative Team met to start planning their events for the term (keep an eye out for IDAHOBIT day events coming soon), our Year 12s went to the career expo at the convention centre to learn about life after FHS and today our Year 10 students are out at NCAT as part of their Discover program. 

This week also saw the beginning of our before school reading program, well done to those students who have been getting up a little bit early to take up the opportunity. Don't forget that Learning Enhancement runs every Monday after school as well, if you need to catch up or you want to get ahead.

Term 2 Clubs are starting up - Board Games club is kicking off next week, Movie club, Pool club and Chess club are all getting started as well. Do something fun, make new friends, come and challenge me to a game of chess.

Debating - Team meeting on Wednesday at Lunchtime

Soccer out on Thursday - Our intermediate Soccer team are heading out to compete against our regional schools on Thursday. Good luck to the team, it should be a good prelude to the upcoming World Cup.
