Other Events for Term Three

 

Beachside Division Soccer - Monday 11th August

After a successful effort at the Holt District competition, our Year 5/6 Boys will head to the the Beachside Division Soccer Championships at the Kingston Heath Soccer Complex, 289 Centre Dandenong Rd, Cheltenham. Details have been communicated via Operoo.

 

School Advisory Council Meetings - Tuesday 12th August & 2nd September

There are two School Advisory Council (SAC) Meetings this term. Meetings are held at 7.30pm in the Meeting Room above the office. Thank you to our SAC Members for your continued consultation and contribution to the leadership of our school.

 

Instrumental Music Performance - Thursday 14th August at 2.45pm

Those students who learn a musical instrument through the offering at school will have the opportunity to perform in from of an audience on the date above. This will be held in the hall and parents are welcome to attend.

 

Year 5/6 Hooptime - Friday 15th August

All students from Year 5 and 6 will head off to Hooptime Basketball at MSAC on Friday 15th August. Details were sent out  last week via Operoo.

 

Prep-Year 2 Excursion - Friday 15th August

All students from Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 will be heading off on an excursion to Ceres Environmental Park, as part of their Term Three Topic on Geography. More details to follow.

 

St Agnes’ Rodeo - Friday 15th August

Get your outfit ready for what promises to be a fun night for all St Agnes’ parents; the St Agnes’ Rodeo. Whether it be your first or your last year as a member of the St Agnes’ community, all are welcome and encouraged to come along. This is one of our major fundraisers for the year, and all proceeds will go towards the new adventure playground project.

 

School Closure Day - Monday 18th August

There is a school closure day on Monday 18th August for staff to undertake professoinal development. Paul and Tash at Kelly Sports are offering a full day of activities onsite for our students on this day. They require a minimum of 10 children to be enrolled by Monday 11th August for this to proceed. I encourage those who need it to get a group together and book it in. P&F Meeting - Tuesday 19th August 

The P&F will meet on Tuesday 19th August at 7.30pm in the staffroom at school. All are welcome and we kindly ask that our Class Reps make a special effort to attend please.

 

Sacrament of Confirmation 

Our Year Six students have a busy term, as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Please see below, the important dates for this sacrament:

  • Family Faith Night - Wednesday 20th August at 7.00pm
  • Reflection Day - Thursday 9th October
  • Sacrament Mass - Saturday 11th October at 6.00pm mass.

It is important for families to be aware that we do not get a choice of confirmation dates; these are determined by the Regional Bishop due to the high number of parishes that require this service.

 

Year 6 Graduation Meeting - Thursday 21st August at 8am

All Year 6 parents are invited to attend a meeting regarding the organisation of Year 6 Graduation. This important event requires the support of parents to make it a success, so please come along.

 

Year 3/4 Hooptime - Tuesday 26th August

All students from Year 3 and 4 will head off to Hooptime Basketball at MSAC on Tuesday 26th August. Details to follow via Operoo.

 

Family Maths Night - Tuesday 26th August

Our parents are invited to participate in our Family Maths Night activities on Tuesday 26th August. These sessions will provide insights for parents into the way we teach and learn Mathematics, with a particular emphasis on number fact fluency. More information to come.

 

Father’s Day Stall - Wednesday 27th August

The children will be able to purchase Father’s Day gifts for their Dads or special male figures on Wednesday 27th August. Thank you to our P&F for making this happen!

 

Book Week Parade and Activities - Thursday 28th August

This year, Children’s Book Week celebrates its 80th anniversary with the theme, “Book an Adventure!”. This theme encourages readers to explore new worlds and stories through books. On Thursday 28th August, the whole school will be involved in fun activities to celebrate Book Week. All students are invited to come dressed as their favourite book character or in a costume related to the theme, “Book an Adventure!”. The day will begin with a Book Week parade and conclude with a special performance by Perform! Education. We look forward to seeing everyone’s creativity and love for reading on display!

 

Holt District Athletics Carnival - Friday 29th August

A representative team will go to Duncan Mackinnon Reserve on Friday 29th August to compete against other Catholic schools from Holt District. Mr Kost will be organising trials during PE classes this term to place children into events.

 

Father’s Day Breakfast and Celebrations - Thursday 4th September

The Father’s and Special Friends Day Breakfast will held in the School Hall on Thursday 4th September from 7.30am. This is always a special event for our school. Helpers will be needed - Please get involved to make it a special morning for our Dads and kids. The breakfast will be followed by a short presentation from the students.

 

Year 3/4 Parish Mass - Friday 12th September at 9am

Our Year 3 and Year 4 students will again participate in Friday morning mass with weekday mass goers. This is part of the faith life of our school and strengthening the connection between our parish/school. Parents are welcome to attend.

 

School Production

Our 2025 School Production will be held at Kilbreda College in Mentone, across two nights: Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th September. As it is a whole school event, it is expected that all children will take part in both performances. Tickets will go on sale in mid-August.

 

Footy Colours Day - Friday 19th September

We celebrate the final day of the term with Footy Colours Day, some fun filled footy activities and hopefully a special lunch! These activities will be planned and led by our Year Six leaders.

 

Last Day of Term Three - Friday 19th September

The final day of school for Term Three is on Friday 19th September. School Concludes at 1.30pm. Term Four commences on Monday 6th October.
