October is traditionally dedicated to the Holy Rosary, a beautiful prayer that invites us to reflect on the life of Jesus through the eyes of Mary. As we pray the Rosary, we are reminded that Mary always leads us closer to her Son.
Families are encouraged to find simple ways to pray the Rosary together during October. You might pray one decade together before bed, say a decade while travelling in the car, choose one evening each week for family prayer, or allow each family member to name someone or something they would like to pray for.
Even a few quiet minutes of prayer together can be a special way to grow in faith and bring peace into our homes.
Loving God,
during this month of the Holy Rosary,
help our family to make time for prayer.
Through the example of Mary,
teach us to trust in you,
to listen to your Word
and to follow Jesus with loving hearts.
As we pray the Rosary together,
we remember those who need our prayers,
those who are lonely, worried or unwell,
and all those who need your love and peace.
Mary, our Mother,
walk with our family and lead us always closer to Jesus.
Amen.

The Catholic Church dedicates October to the Holy Rosary. The best way to celebrate the month is, of course, to pray the Rosary. The link below gives you instructions on how to pray the rosary. Get the family together to pray the entire rosary or just one decade. Don’t forget to make special intentions while praying the rosary because the Blessed Mother intercedes for us and sends our prayer to her son Jesus. Jesus would never say no to His mother.
