Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program

SAKG TERM 3
Our students have been busy giving our garden a thorough winter clean-up, weeding, mulching and preparing the beds for a new season of planting.
Every available space in the garden has now been filled with fresh vegetables and flowers, including carrots, corn, lettuce, spring onions, sunflowers, beetroot, cucumbers, eggplants, capsicums and basil. Our garlic bed is looking fantastic, and we are harvesting an abundance of rainbow chard, kale, spring onions and herbs.
It has also been exciting to see our pollinator garden burst into colour, just as we had hoped. The vibrant blooms are already attracting a variety of beneficial insects and bringing new life to the space.
We look forward to welcoming volunteers back into the kitchen and garden next term. A new volunteer schedule will be emailed during the first week of Term 4, and we encourage anyone interested to join us for a session.
