Sub School Updates

Important Reminders
Just a reminder coming towards the end of term. Can you please ensure that there are no photographs of students on your personal phones/devices. If there are, please delete these by ensuring they are deleted from both your phone gallery and cloud storage.
It is also a good idea to:
- Ensure that you are logged out of your school email and SeeSaw on your personal devices.
- Ensure that any documentation relating to students is not saved onto your personal devices (check your downloads folders and cloud storage).
If you lose your personal phone/device and it has school related documentation on it, there is a long and arduous process to go through. Let’s avoid this altogether. 🙂 As we approach the end of term, please take a few minutes to check your personal devices and cloud storage for any student photos or related information. Protecting student privacy is a shared responsibility, and this simple step helps safeguard our students, staff, and school community from potential privacy and security incidents.

Recurring notices
Mobile Phones Please do not use your mobile phone in front of the students. If you need to check your emails, sit aside from the students. Class time should be focussed on learning.
Yard duty Please ensure you always have the latest yard duty timetable visible in your classroom and that you are familiar with your duty expectations.
Yellow Vests and Bum BagsPlease wear your yellow vests and bum bags for PG duty. It is important that you are visible. If you do not have enough, please ask reception staff and they will give you additional vests.
Active supervision
Roam – move continuously through your allocated area
Build rapport with students- engage them with games
Anticipate behaviours before they escalate- read the Playground Support Document
Phones away, please – full attention on students at all times
All students must be supervised by a staff member at all times. If a student from your class is taking a movement break and you would like another staff member who is already outside to supervise, please ensure you communicate with them directly.
ALWAYS Check with staff prior to letting a student in an area such as the playground
Seesaw
Please remember to upload photos of students completing all the wonderful activities in the class. The minimum requirement is one photo per student per week. This is important in helping families see the wonderful learning and care you provide each day. Regular updates offer reassurance and help build strong, trusting relationships between families and staff.
AAC Devices
Please ensure your classroom AAC device is charged each day. One member of the classroom staff must take the AAC device with them while on yard duty. We will provide gentle reminders to staff to retrieve it, if it is accidentally left in the classroom.
We will continue to help and model this during check-ins, class visits to support you and increase your confidence on using AAC.
Emails
Please ensure you read your emails before students arrive and after students leave at a minimum to ensure you are up to date.

Primary Sub School - Zoe Pirotta
Welcome to week 10!
A huge thank you to all Primary staff for your hard work in making the Primary School Concert such a wonderful success. It was fantastic to see our students participate and showcase all of their hard work.
A special thank you to Elishia and Mary, whose tireless efforts in preparing for and supporting the concert are very much recognised and appreciated.
Teaching and Learning Plans
When completing your planning, please ensure there is enough detail to clearly show the learning that is taking place. Rather than simply stating that students will “complete work tubs”, please describe the specific activity, skill or learning focus.
For example:
“Students practise following AB patterns using hearts and triangles on the worksheet.”
Planning should allow another staff member to clearly understand what students are learning and what they will be doing during the activity.
Exclusion from School – Circuit-Breaker Days
As outlined in the Student Wellbeing and Engagement Plan, I would like to clarify what is meant by an Exclusion from School (Circuit-Breaker Day).
“In certain circumstances, exclusion may be necessary for the safety of the student themselves, other students and staff. It may also be necessary to exclude a student for a short period of time to allow the school to make reasonable adjustments in altering the environment and changing support strategies.”
A Circuit-Breaker Day is determined by leadership and can only be communicated to parents/carers by a member of leadership. Classroom staff should not advise or suggest to a family that their child requires a Circuit-Breaker Day.
Students Who Are Unwell or Injured
If a student is unwell, please continue to follow the school’s exclusion table.
If you believe a student needs to go home due to illness or injury, please ensure:
- the student is assessed by a first-aider
- myself or another member of leadership is informed
- families are contacted only after these steps have occurred.
This ensures we follow a consistent process and that the appropriate staff are aware before a student is sent home.
Thank You
I greatly appreciate the hard work, flexibility and support you have all shown, particularly over the past few weeks. Cold and flu season has resulted in high staff absences, and I know this has placed additional pressure on teams at times.
Thank you for continuing to support our students, your colleagues and each other through what has been a particularly busy end to the term.
I hope you all have a relaxing and very well-deserved rest over the break. Thank you for everything you have contributed this term.
