Outdoor Ed/Camp Dates 2025:

Yr. 2 Outdoor Ed Days:
On Monday and Tuesday this week the Yr. 2 students participated in their Outdoor Education Day at Cresco Scout Camp, Warrandyte. The day was facilitated by Eco Explores and the students had a terrific day participating in the following activities:
Building & Construction Area
- Learn different rope knots
- Bush Survival Challenge - Build a bush shelter, practice how to put up a tarp with pegs
- Tool use area - saws provided
Sustainable Nature Art & Craft area
- Make your own paints from rocks, plants, herbs and spices.
- Experiment and create eco prints using flowers and other natural items, weaving
Fire Skills
- Introduction to fire and fire safety
- Hand fire drill demonstration
- Children will get to use a fire steel and light their own fire.
- Marshmallows can be provided to cook over their fire.
Campfire cooking
- Children will make wattle seed damper and cook it over a fire.
