Catholic Identity

PRAYER
On Saturday 24th May Australian Catholics celebrated the Feast of Mary Help of Christian. Under the title of Help of Christians, Mary was chosen as Patroness of Australasia by Archbishop John Bede Polding, in Sydney in 1844. As Catholics we believe we are helped through Mary's powerful intercession and through the example of her life that we find in the Gospels.
A Prayer for Australia
Loving God,
You place deep in our hearts
The love of Mary, Help of Christians.
Through her prayers
Grant wisdom to our leaders
and integrity to our citizens.
Under her protection may Australia,
Be granted harmony, justice and peace.
Amen
EUCHARIST FAMILY NIGHT IN SCHOOL HALL
A reminder that all students preparing for this sacrament are required to attend the Eucharist Family Night with one parent, this Thursday May 29th @ 7:00 pm. Parents will have received a note today, explaining that this session will now take place in the St John’s School Hall, due to a clash on the Parish Calendar. During this session we will explore with families why the Catholic Church considers the Eucharist to be the most important of all the seven sacraments. Students will have an opportunity to go to Confession at school, in preparation to receive their First Holy Communion.
The Sacrament of Eucharist will take place the next week on June 5th @ 7:00pm at St Andrew’s Church . As traffic can be quite heavy around Werribee families are reminded to arrive at the church 15 minutes prior to the celebration of the Mass.
PARISH DINNER DANCE
The Parish will be holding a Dinner Dance on Saturday 19th July from 6:30 pm onwards in the St Andrew’s School Hall. On the night there will be live music and a buffet dinner. This is a wonderful way to support the vital work of our Parish. Families wishing to secure a ticket should see below for full details or contact the Parish Office on 9741 4144.
COMMUNITY MASSES 2025
It was wonderful to see so many of our families at Mass at St Andrew’s Church last Saturday. Children preparing to celebrate their First Holy Communion received a Children’s Mass Book. Fr Albert was very thankful to all the families present who had travelled from Tarneit to attend this Parish Mass. Our next Community Mass will be here in the St John’s School Hall on Saturday 28th June.
Below is a list of this year’s Community Mass dates, we look forward to seeing many of our families there.
