100-Year Celebration

Thank You for Celebrating 100 Years with Us!

What an incredible day we had celebrating Yarra Road Primary School’s 100th anniversary! It was wonderful to see our community come together to mark such a special milestone in the school’s history. This celebration was a true team effort, with so many hands working together and individuals leading different areas to ensure everything came together so successfully.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our generous sponsors, Croydon Travel, FLRS, and Kidman Partners, for their support of this event. A huge thank you also goes to our parents and community members who donated items for the silent auction, volunteered their time, and contributed in so many ways to help make the celebration such a success.

We are also very grateful to the Wonga Park Historical Society for joining us and sharing their knowledge of the area’s rich history with our community.

To our parents, thank you to those who took leadership roles, joined 100-Year meetings. A special mention to:

  • Kaitlyn Ward and the Ward family for leading the silent auction.
  • Dikesh Gandhi for arranging the Billabong Band.
  • Paul Wulfrun for his leadership of the event, food, advertising, and more.
  • Kirsten Rowe for organising the bake sale.

There are many other parents that have supported this event, with their teamwork and generosity making the day possible.

A special thank you goes to the staff who coordinated teams to bring different elements of the day together:

  • Judy Haysom for her wonderful role as MC.
  • Ashleigh Smith and Ethan Cooper who led the dance teams and prepared the students so brilliantly.
  • Shanae Stevens who oversaw the Centenary Book and photos.
  • Kate Garside, Charlee Schafer, and Brogan Smith who coordinated ticketing and centenary items.
  • Narelle Cooper who led the decorations team.
  • Meriden James and Rhiana McRae who led the logistics and food coordination.
  • Rachel Baum who coordinated the Mural.

To our amazing staff, thank you for the planning, organisation, and teamwork that went into ensuring the day ran smoothly.

To our students, your research into the decades, your ownership of the event, and your outstanding performances made us all so proud.

Finally, if you are interested in purchasing one of our slap bands, tea towels, or the Centenary Book, these are still available from the school office.

I would like to wish all families a safe and restful holiday and would like to thank you for celebrating with us.
