Dear Families,

 

Feast of the Assumption – Whole School Mass 

Tomorrow, Friday 15 August, we will come together as a school to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption — a significant day in the Catholic tradition that honours the belief that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was taken into heaven, body and soul. 

 

Mass will begin at 9:15am in the shed, and all classes will be involved. This is a wonderful opportunity for our school to gather in faith and reflect on Mary’s example of trust, devotion, and love. Thank you to everyone who has helped prepare for the Mass. We look forward to sharing this meaningful celebration together. 

Book Week

This year’s Book Week will be held from Monday 18 August to Friday 22 August. The theme for 2025 is

‘Book an Adventure’.

 

Here are the important Book Week dates:

Book Fair 

  • Tuesday 19 Aug – 8.15-8.50am & 3.20-3.45pm
  • Wednesday 20 Aug – 8.15-8.50am & 3.20-3.45pm
  • Friday 22 Aug – 8.15-8.50am & 3.20-3.45pm
  • Monday 25 Aug – 8.15-8.50am & 3.20-3.45pm
  • Tuesday 26 Aug – 8.15-8.50am & 3.20-3.45pm

Book Week Parade

  • Friday 22 Aug @ 9.15am

Sacramental Program

St Therese's Parish are now taking enrolments for the 2025/2026 Sacramental Preparation program.  Families with children in Grade 2 and above can enrol to join the program by using the below QR code. The program will commence with children preparing for Reconciliation later this term, followed by Confirmation and First Holy Eucharist in 2026.

 

Parents are required to attend an Information Night at St Therese's Church in Kennington, on either:

  • Monday 18th August, 6:30pm, OR

  • Thursday 21st August, 6:30pm

Circus Rio - Free Tickets

All students were recently given free tickets to the Circus Rio Carnival coming soon to Bendigo. We still have a number of free tickets available, at the office, for the Circus - 22-28 Aug. If you would like some extra tickets, please come to the office to collect them.

Shed Unavailability 

The shed will be unavailable for training use on the following dates in Term 3:

  • Thursday 14 Aug - Whole school Mass setup (afterschool training affected)

  • Tuesday 2 Sept - Yr 6 Life Relationships Evening (afterschool training affected)

  • Thursday 4 Sept - Father's Day Mass setup (afterschool training affected)

Assembly  

3GB & 3M will lead our next school assembly on Friday 22 August from 2.45pm in the Shed.  All parents, grandparents and guardians are most welcome to attend.
