Sustainability

 SENIOR UPCYCLING ELECTIVE

Students are working well with Gary to repurpose old wood to make a bird feeder. The group are also making a horseshoe game using horseshoes, felt and wood. Students are learning how to be sustainable by reusing old materials to make new items.

RECYCLING MADE EASY IN THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

Remember if you have unwanted items in the school holidays like used batteries, reading glasses and x rays do not put them in landfill, take them to your local library for recycling. Officeworks also has a recycling station for you to take used unwanted items like used pens and markers and printer cartridges.Naranga School has a recycling box for pens and markers that no longer work. We will keep this box in the staffroom. Once the box is full, we will return it to Officeworks before the end of term. A team member will record how much we collect each time. Schools involved in the recycling go into a draw to win a prize for their efforts.

Remember putting your pens and markers in the box keeps them out of landfill. If you want to know more, please watch the video on the website to find out what happens to the old items. Please go to the Officeworks website www.officeworks.com.au/schoolrecycling
