Acting Principal Report

As we move towards the end of term, it has been wonderful to see some brighter, warmer weather arrive. A welcome lift as students and staff push through these final weeks.

If you've driven past the Northern Highway side of the school recently, you'll have noticed the new Kindergarten taking shape, with the main structure now in place. It's exciting to watch this project progress, and once complete it will be a tremendous asset for our whole community.

Next week, a group of our Year 10 and 11 students will head away to snow camp. It promises to be a memorable experience, and we look forward to hearing all about their adventures on their return.

I'm also pleased to share some genuinely encouraging data that has come in recently. Our NAPLAN results show student growth tracking above the average for statistically similar schools, a strong indicator that the teaching and learning happening in our classrooms is making a real difference. Just as pleasing, our Attitudes to School data reflects a strong, positive endorsement from students, with 18 of a possible 19 factors scoring higher than the state average. These are results the entire school community can be proud of.

Behind the scenes, our staff made excellent use of a successful planning day last Wednesday, and their commitment to improving outcomes for every student continues to shine through.

Finally, I'd encourage everyone to get behind the Peter Mac fundraiser being led by our School Captain, Paige. It's a wonderful cause and a great example of the leadership and generosity our students bring to the school. Please give it your support.

Wishing you all a positive close to the term.
