Book Week Celebrations!
Book Week is almost here, and it's time to celebrate our love of reading! Our staff have their costumes ready, and we encourage all students to join in the fun by creating their own costumes with a focus on reusing and recycling materials from home.
Classes have been diving into the Children’s Book Council Australia shortlisted books, creating wonderful wall poster displays inspired by their reading.
Our SRC have organised a book stall for Friday and encourage donations of children’s and adult books that they may sell. Children may purchase books from $1-$5 on Friday. See the SRC announcement.
Parents are warmly invited to attend our Book Parade and walk through the hallways to admire the fantastic artwork and book responses created by our students. We look forward to celebrating reading together as a community!
SunSmart Reminder: UV Levels Increasing
As spring approaches, UV radiation levels are rising and reaching 3 or higher during the day. In line with our SunSmart policy, all students are required to wear their school hats when UV is at 3 or above. At this time this includes during First Lunch and some PE classes. Please ensure your child has their hat at school every day. This is a good time to check that your child’s name is on their hat.
Does your child use Roblox?
The following Safe on Social article provides an insight into the safety of Roblox. The author, Kirra Pendergast gives an overview of the safety concerns that need to be rectified and also provides some suggestions of how you can help your child be safer if they play Roblox.
Mercy Spirit Award
Many students have already nominated others for the Mercy Spirit award. Please be reminded that nominations close on 4 September.
Student Free Day
Please be reminded that Friday 4 September is a student free day.
End of Term
The last day of term, Friday 18 September, is a casual clothes day. School finishes at 1:00pm.
Leaving HR?
Our plans are underway for the 2027 year! We kindly ask families to let us know if your child will not be returning to HR next year. Having this information helps us with class planning, staffing, and welcoming new families into our community. Please notify the school office as soon as possible.
Blessings for the week ahead,
Christine
