Located in the Library at the Holloway Road campus, the Careers Room is open every lunchtime. Students are welcome to come around and browse resources, ask questions, or book an interview with Deb Hanlen (Year 11 & 12) or Lynne Laursen (9 & 10).

Year 12

This is a busy time for all Year 12 students as they prepare for the end of the year. I would like to remind all students, regardless of their pathway that the careers department is available to assist with resumes, job search skills, VTAC applications and further study options, as well as general pathway advice. Good Luck to all Year 12 students.

 

Reminders

Please set up your VTAC application as soon as possible. Timely applications are due on September 28th at 5pm. The cost of your application is $55. It would be best if all applications were paid for by this date. If there is an issue around paying for your application come in and see me or your Year Level Leader.

Year 11

In Term 4 all Year 11 students will be introduced to an extensive range of career resources and how to complete a Career Action Plan. 

 

Year 10

All Year 10 students are invited to attend the Careers Centre for help with your resume and cover letter. If interested, please email Lynne Laursen to make an appointment.

There will also be a Workshop in Term 4 focussing on Resume and Cover Letter guidance. Details will be released in early Term 4.

 

The University of Melbourne is accepting applications from Year 10 students for their Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Programs commencing in 2025. The top performing students in Year 10 at Sandringham College have been advised about this program. We look forward to hearing about the successful applicants in the near future.

 

Years 7, 8 and 9

Years 7, 8 and 9 are now close to completing their Career lessons for 2023. This includes students having the opportunity to set up the mandated Career Action Plan.
