REMINDER - Subway Lunch Orders

Commence this Friday!

Please place orders in Subway Tub Thursday for delivery Friday. Late orders are to be submitted to Subway Store before close of business Thursday evening, please avoid dropping them in Friday morning.

For orders via CDFpay, please select all items on the menu to be included in your students Sub and submit before 2.45pm Thursdays. 

Summer School Uniform

Students are to wear Summer uniform during term 1. Changes to this is at the principal's discretion.

 

Summer Uniform -

  • All students - Grey shorts/Skort, School polo top (short or long sleeve) and school navy blue windcheater if required, grey socks for boys OR white socks for girls.
  • Sports uniform is to be worn for students PE day and all students are required to wear school polo shirt & windcheater as required, plain black basketball shorts - no logos permitted and no bike shorts, these are not school uniform.
  • All Students - School Hat is required for all outdoor play and activities. Please ensure this is clearly named.

PLEASE NOTE 

  • Bike shorts/leggings are not school uniform.
  • Students uniform items should not have any branding or logos other than school print.
  • Shorts are to be visible and longer than T-Shirt and or Jumper.
  • Jewellery - sleepers or studs 1 per ear, extra earrings are to be clear, 1 necklace with religious or cultural symbol, nose piercing is not to be noticeable (eg clear stud) or should be covered, no bangles or bracelets.
  • Hair ties to be black or Navy Blue.

Grades 3-6 Swimming Carnival

On Friday 13th - Our Grades 3-6 students will participate in our inaugural Swimming Carnival. To be held at the Mooroopna Swimming Pool 10am - 2.30pm. Students are encouraged to wear house colors and parents are invited to join us at the pool. Further information is in flyer below.

News from Around The School

New - Term 1 After School Program

After school program is Government funded Program run by St. Mary’s School through Sporting Schools Program. The program runs for 1 hour after school. The children are provided with a drink and fruit. The program will be offered for 7 weeks.

Each session starts at 3.45pm and finishes at 4.45 p.m. The program is supervised at all times and an outside person runs the program. Each session can only take 25 children. 

This term we are offering the following: 

Multi Games with Skillzone Multi Sports Coaching, with the aim of this program being to have fun, learn new games and be happy. This will be held in the Marian Centre or Oval depending on the weather. 

WEDNESDAYS - starting Wednesday 18th February for 7 WEEKS, finishing on 1st April 2026.

THURSDAYS - starting Thursday 19th October for 7 WEEKS, finishing on 2nd April 2026.

 

The children will meet Maree outside the Marian Centre straight after school and have fruit and a drink. 

Please return the attached form to the office as soon as possible.

New - Student Learning Meetings

Student Learning Meetings are scheduled for Term 1 Week 3 and bookings are now open via PAM or SIMON Everywhere under the Parent Teacher Interviews Tab. Student Learning Meetings involve both parents and students. 

To make a booking click on CORE Group then choose a teacher and a time for each child. If you are having any problems with accessing this process to book in, please see Amber or Naomi at the office or ring the office on 58252858.

For bookings from 2:15 -3:15 Teachers will be available in the following areas:

Tuesday 10th February - Carmel Hutchison (Purple Room in the Library), Katherine Mirabella (Conference Room), Ange Brown (Resource Room), David Maskell (Reading Room near the Library)  

For after school bookings, teachers will be in their classrooms for interviews.

Wednesday 11th February - Fiona Dowling (Resource Room), Ann-Margaret Carroll (Conference room), Coutney Bailey (5/6Hub), Jacqui Mulraney (Purple Room)

Thursday 12th February- Tayla Broadbent (5/6 Hub), Tilly Male (Conference Room), Jodi Cox (Purple Room)

Teachers will be available Tuesday 10th of February 3:30 – 5:30 pm and Wednesday 11th February 3:30 – 6:15 pm.

For after school bookings, teachers will be in their classrooms for interviews.

Online, virtual meetings are available on request. Teachers will be in touch.

Due to Foundation student testing on Wednesdays, there will be NO Student learning meetings after school. However, Foundation classrooms will be open for families to visit on Tuesday 10th February from 3:45 – 5:30 pm.

 

New - St Mary’s School Swimming Sports Day

We are excited to announce that on Friday 13 February, all students in Grades 3–6 will be attending the first St Mary’s School Swimming Sports Day at the Mooroopna Swimming Pool.

 

The event will commence at 10:00am and conclude at approximately 2:30pm. Students will walk to and from the pool, accompanied by all Grades 3–6 teaching staff. To ensure a prompt departure, students are required to be at school before 9:15am, as we will be leaving the school grounds at that time.

Students are encouraged to show their school spirit by wearing their house colours on the day. They will have the opportunity to participate in a range of competitive swimming events, as well as fun novelty events, ensuring an enjoyable and inclusive day for all.

Students will need to bring:

  • Lunch
  • A hat
  • Sunscreen  
  • A water bottle
  • Bathers and a towel

Students who use Ventolin for asthma are required to carry it with them at all times.

Parents and carers are most welcome to attend and cheer on the students by meeting us at the Mooroopna Pool. We look forward to a fun filled day celebrating participation, teamwork, and sporting achievement.

 

New - Shrove Tuesday

Tuesday 17th February we will celebrate Shrove Tuesday with Pancakes.

Classes will prepare the pancake mixture and our P&F group will cook them in batches.

Students are encouraged to bring along a gold coin donation and donate a bottle of pancake shaker mix. School will provide the spreads.

Students will participate in Ash Wednesday Liturgy the following day, Wednesday 18th February.

New - Founders Day

Founders' day is coming up on Monday 23rd February.

 

Following our whole school liturgy at 9am in the Marian Centre, the students will gather in their House Groups and will rotate through various activities planned throughout the day.

Grade 6 House Captains will assist staff with their House activities for the day.

Families are invited to join us for the events of the day. 

We will have a special morning tea and a family BBQ/Picnic lunch with Azem at lunchtime.

If the weather is inclement, we will make the necessary adjustments.

Students and Staff are asked to wear a house color t-shirt.

 

Foodshare

Recently, St Mary's School has become an agent for Foodshare. We are able to assist with some food items for families in the Mooroopna area. We have prepacked frozen meals that are great for people who are ill. We are also able to provide some food supplies. Each week we receive a selection of groceries, fruits and vegetables. If you need support please reach out to Gary Woodward or Liz Turk via the school office - 5825285.
