🐾 Welcome Back, Nala – Our Therapy Dog for 2026 🐾

We’re very excited to welcome Nala back to school in 2026! Nala plays an important role in supporting student wellbeing and helping to create a calm, positive school environment.

What is a therapy dog?Nala is not the same as a pet dog at home. She has an important job to do at school, supporting students with emotional regulation, connection and wellbeing. Because of this, it’s essential that we are always calm and respectful around her.

Our school can be a busy place, with lots of people, noise and movement, this can be overwhelming for a dog. To make sure Nala feels safe, calm and happy, there are three very important expectations that all students and adults must follow when they see her:

  • Say hello to the person walking her
  • Do not say Nala’s name
  • Do not ask to pat her

Nala is often working and needs to stay focused. The best thing you can do is have a look and keep moving.

By following these expectations, we help Nala remain calm and happy so she can continue doing her important work supporting our school community.

We’re so excited to have Nala back with us and look forward to another positive year together in 2026 💙🐶
