ABORIGINAL SCAR TREES
The foundation classes have been looking at Scar trees for the end of the term.
A Scar tree, also known as a canoe tree and shield tree, is a tree whose bark has been removed by Aboriginal Australians to create bark canoes, shields, weapons, tools, traps, and containers.
The students have done a marvellous job at recreating their own Scar trees in water paints on cartridge paper and used real leaves to decorate.
I'm sure you will love them as much as we do!
Have a great weekend!
