Melbourne Reunion

I would like to remind all Old Virgillians that responses for interest in the Melbourne reunion are due by Friday 22 September 2023. The initial interest has been strong and it appears clear that this event will be proceeding as planned. Members of your Committee will be present and we will all be interested in your thoughts as to the future directions of OVA and as to how you would like to see it contribute to the future of our College. This is an opportunity for us to consult with you and hear your thoughts. It is important that we have a reasonable idea of numbers so that the venue and catering can be confirmed before the end of the month. We are seeking either confirmation or intent to attend if possible.

Annual OVA Golf Day

A reminder that this regular annual event is progressing as planned and please save the date in the diary and confirm attendance and teams as soon as possible. Details can be found below.

Seniors Win

May I extend our congratulations to the St Virgil's Premiership team who won the Senior Old Scholar Division title last weekend - the first time in 20 years. With a grand final winning margin in excess of 100 points and not losing a match throughout the season is an outstanding performance under any measure. This success was matched by the St Virgil's women's team playing in the 3rd division of the women's competition. A substantial and well-deserved premiership. Congratulations to all players, coaches, family and supporters throughout the season. We are very proud of both teams and all players representing St Virgils.

At our last Committee meeting the OVA approved a substantial grant to the college to assist with the fit out of the training kitchen that supports our students undertaking commercial cooking. Your committee assessed the application on its merits and the extended value to the College by supporting this initiative which will provide longer term support to students embarking careers in this profession.
