Thank you to everyone who made this term and Book Week so special.  The purpose of the CBCA and Book Week is to enrich young lives through Australian stories and to connect, communicate, celebrate, and advocate for the value of stories, across generations.

Book Week 2026 Winners

In order to encourage students to return their library books, the Library runs a Book Worm competition.  Each time a student returns their library book or books, their name is put into the draw to win a jar of Book Worms.

BOOK WORM WINNERS

This year, book Week introduced a class consistency prize.  The class who won averaged over half their class returning their books every single week.  The 2026 winner is Miss Redford’s 3/4R!! 

Library Spirit award

The Library wants to recognise Chelsea’s (5/6S) and Hannah’s (5/6W) excellence in being this year’s library leaders.  These two have been remarkable in their responsibility and taking the initiative in making the library an amazing space for all students. 

Chelsea and Hannah have designed book displays, made posters, spoken at assembly, have visited classrooms, helped with Book Week presentations, and even gave up their own time to come along and help at the Book Fair in Term 2. They have truly demonstrated leadership qualities. 

Book Week House Cup competition

This year’s House Cup competition was a decoding exercise.  There were three categories: Book characters, Book Series, and Genre.

This year’s House winner was Bradman. Congratulations!!

This is the first year Bradman has won, and what’s amazing is that every year for the last four years, a different house has won the trophy, so next year will be very interesting.
