School Council

As we come to the end of another busy term, I wanted to take a moment to talk about something a little different this week. One of the things I’ve come to understand much better through my time on School Council is just how much goes on behind the scenes to support our school, and how much thought goes into making the most of the resources available to our students.

While everything students need to access the curriculum is provided free of charge, voluntary contributions from families give our school additional capacity to enhance the programs, resources and environment our students experience. At Bimbadeen Heights, this might mean adding new releases to our library, enhancing our technology resources, providing additional hands-on learning resources such as equipment for cooking activities, expanding the range of resources available for Art, PE, Performing Arts and 

LOTE, supporting student wellbeing initiatives, or improving our playgrounds and outdoor spaces.

These are just some examples of the additional resources and improvements that sit behind school life at Bimbadeen Heights. It’s easy to overlook just how much happens in the background, and it’s something I’ve come to appreciate much more through my time on School Council. With families receiving information about voluntary contributions for 2027 next term, I thought this was a good opportunity to share a little of that 

perspective.

For now, though, I think we are all ready for a well-earned break! 

I hope all of our Bimbadeen Heights families have a safe and relaxing holiday, with an opportunity to slow down and enjoy some time together.
