Dear Parents,

Thank you to all of the parents who attended the Trivia night last Saturday night. It was a wonderful night with a great atmosphere, fantastic band and fun trivia. Nights like these provide our wonderful community with a chance to have some fun together and build community. Thanks to Megan Rogers and Beth Dunham and all of the parents that helped with any aspect of the night.

Thanks to the band who donated their time on Saturday and the many past parents who came along to show their support.

All fundraising efforts in 2025 will go to classroom resources.

We will continue to have a significant focus on our Literacy and Numeracy over the next four weeks of Term 4 prior to all of the fun activities Term 4 provides. Please make sure you are hearing your child’s reading and completing home learning to revise basic skills and ensure consistent practice.

Please also make sure your child is in the correct uniform. Students must wear black shoes on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. We are inquiring into black shoes and which brands fit our requirements and will be working with our school advisory board on these this week. Please make sure your child has the correct hair ties and also does not wear nail polish or jewellery other than small earrings to school.

I spoke to each learning community last week highlighting our wonderful school and what we stand for. Our students can really capture what the essence of being a student at St Joseph’s means and what it means to show respect, encourage others and be inspiring in their work. They are also very clear on our zero tolerance to put downs, physical, swearing and disrespect and the consistent consequences we have in place for these behaviours regardless of which student or age group.

It was a privilege for our Deputy Trish Brennan and myself to have lunch with 8 students who have been demonstrating what it means to be a wonderful St Joseph’s student.

Congratulations to the following students : Maisie, Fred, Savannah, Toby, Kai, Heidi, Molly and Zac.

We are beginning to focus on our transition process moving forward into 2026. Transition is a very important part of our wellbeing program. The more familiar people can become with the situation surrounding the change, and the more they can participate in managing the change, the more they can anticipate it with excitement rather than fear. (Ashton, 2008b, p.5)

Our Year 6 students are preparing for the next stage in their schooling. We are also well underway with our Joey’s transition program for our new little Preppies for next year. Our Joey’s have been coming fortnightly in Term 3 and 4 and are really becoming a wonderful part of our school community. Parents of Joey’s are partaking in parent education sessions as well.

Transition also includes preparing students moving from one class to the next and our new families transitioning into our school in 2026. We look forward to ensuring all of our students are prepared for the next stage in their journey.
