SCHOOL SPORT 2026
District and Western Sport Trials
In 2026, Mrs Francis will coordinate all district and western trial information for PSSA Sporting teams.
Some trials at a school level will be held prior to the district trials. This depends on the sport and popularity of trials at the district level.
When trialling for district and western teams, notes will go home with students from school and will need to be returned to school to Mrs Francis before the due date.
Students cannot attend trials without this note being approved by the school and students names entered into trials by the school.
Students can find out about upcoming school, district and western trials by listening to Sentral announcements in class, and parents can find out about trials by keeping up to date through the School Newsletter.
School PSSA Sporting Teams
This year we will enter the following teams in the PSSA competition. The coordinating teachers are also listed. Sporting team trials dates will be announced on Facebook and in the newsletter as well as on the daily messages that children receive in the classroom.

- Mixed Soccer with Miss Barber and Mrs McPhee
- Mixed Netball with Miss Reedy
- Boys Rugby League with Mrs Goninan
- Girls Touch Football with Mrs Sarah White
Athletics Carnival Field Event Trials
Children in Years 3-6 and Year 2 children turning 8 this year are eligible to participate in the Athletics Carnival Field Event Trials to be held on Wednesday 1st April on the oval at school. Children have been asked to nominate themselves for Discus, Long Jump and Shot Put trials. Nomination Forms will be put on the windows of the Stage 3 classrooms and students will be required to write their name on the field events they would like to trial for. Teachers will be available to assist children if they require help.
The nomination forms will be:
- Junior (8, 9, 10yrs), 11yrs and Senior (12, 13yrs)
- Shot Put, Discus and Long Jump.
Students must have their names on the nomination sheets by Thursday the 26th of March (Thursday of week 9)

Western Swimming Carnival
Good luck to our swimmers who will be competing at the PSSA Western Swimming Carnival on Thursday 26th March in Dubbo. Individual raceswimmers are: Ashwin Buttsworth, Adeline Hunter, Addison Jones, Lawson Glasgow, Ethan Jones, Ellie Surawski, Jasmyn Ferrier, Patrick Muldoon, Evie Allbut, Margot Heiner. Our relay swimmers are Evie Allbutt, Lachlan Kelly, Margot Heiner, Natalia Heiner, Jemimah Lyle, James Hollier, Logan Davis, Ashwin Buttsworth, Patrick Muldoon, Addison Jones, Adeline Hunter, Zara O'Connor, Jasmyn Ferrier, Ethan Jones, Lawson Glasgow, Frankie Shoemark and Kaelan Wheeler.
School Rugby League Team
Rugby League Trials occurred on Tuesday at school. The team will be announced this Friday 20th March.
Training - in week 9 will occur on Tuesday 24th March during Break 1. It is mandatory that children wear mouth guards during all training sessions and games.
School PSSA Team - Mixed Cricket
Our first game has been rescheduled to be played on Thursday 19th March against Bathurst West Public School at Learmonth Park.
The team consists of Logan Davis, James Hollier, Lucas Hurford, Patrick Muldoon, Lewis Pearson, Leo Shoemark, Lleyton Bonnici, Ashwin Buttsworth, Ethan Robb, Will Skein, Vincent Spicer and Brayden Hinchcliffe
Training - in week 9 will occur on Wednesday 25th March during Break 1.
School PSSA Team Trials - Mixed Netball
Training - Break 1 Monday 23rd March and Break 1 Thursday 26th March with Ms Reedy.
Netball Gala Day is scheduled for Friday 27th March at the Bathurst Netball Courts (Please note this is a change of date).
School Girls Touch Football - Thank you to all the Year 5 and 6 girls who trialled for our school touch football team this year. It was so wonderful to see so many of our students interested in touch football and wanting to be a part of our team.
