SCIENCE: 'Shelters' durability of shapes and materials

Science is always such a fun subject and the ‘Shelter’ unit that 3/4 RF is completing is no different. The long term outcome from this unit is that the students will design and construct their own shelter for the school with the focus at the moment being the design phase. The students are using different materials to create a variety of shapes and test that shape’s durability. 

Last week they used cardboard straws and masking tape to build a tower aiming for it to be the tallest as well as the strongest. 

We look forward to hearing more about this unit as the students work through it this term!
