NARRABRI HIGH SCHOOL TRANSITION
Our Year 6 students commenced their journey of transitioning to high school with a visit from
staff and students of Narrabri High School last week. Principal, Mr Warden along with the Year Advisor Miss Samantha Coppin and School Leaders, visited Stage 3 to highlight the exciting opportunities available at Narrabri High School.
Students attending Narrabri High School next year were excited to attend their first transition day at the High School last Wednesday. The activities on the day were focused around Science Week. The students were tasked with building a boat using only foil to see which boat could float when the most weight was added. Out of the 35 boats built, two of our boats placed first and second. They also put their Garden Club skills to good use and assisted in planting parsley and thyme in foam cups to be transferred to the ag plot.
They are looking forward to their next transition day.
VIETNAM VETERANS DAY
Last Thursday Mr Frend and Angus Irwin represented our school at the Vietnam Veterans Day ceremony held at the Narrabri RSL. Vietnam Veterans Day honors the sacrifice of Australian soldiers who fought in the Vietnam War. Commemorative services, wreath-laying ceremonies, and veteran reunions are held nationwide to recognise their courage and pay tribute to those who served, died or wounded.
DONATION OF ORANGES
A big thank you to Vincent and Kerrie Haire for your kind donation of fresh oranges to our school last week. They were gobbled up quick smart by the kids during lunchtime who were coming back for seconds, thirds and fifths!
