Term 4 - Week 1
Dear Families
Welcome back to Term 4.
Central Victoria is renowned for its four distinct seasons, and this year has certainly delivered. I hope the holiday break provided families with an opportunity to spend quality time together, recharge, and enjoy the change of pace that the school holidays bring. Most importantly, I trust our students have returned refreshed, motivated, and ready to embrace the opportunities and challenges of the final term of the year.
Exciting Improvements to Our School
Families will have noticed the significant transformation taking place across our school grounds throughout 2026.
I am pleased to share that the refurbishment of the McAuley Building is now complete. This project has delivered a new administration area, enhanced learning spaces, updated staff facilities, and attractive landscaping. These improvements have created a more welcoming, functional, and contemporary environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Work on our oval commenced last term, and the new turf has responded exceptionally well to the spring weather and reduced foot traffic over the holiday break. The redevelopment will provide a safer and more sustainable recreational space for our students, supporting both learning and playing well into the future.
Looking Ahead
Stages 2 and 3 of our works are progressing well. These works include the refurbishment of the former staff and administration areas, creating additional learning spaces, and improved disability access. We look forward to these facilities being completed and ready for students at the commencement of the 2027 school year.
Planning and preparation have also continued for our new playground and outdoor learning spaces. These exciting additions will provide students with even more opportunities for active play, creativity, exploration, and social connection.
We also look forward to a number of community events organised by our dedicated Parents & Friends Association, including the highly anticipated Christmas Fair in November. Events such as these bring our community together and help strengthen the positive partnerships that make St Kilian's such a special place.
Together, we continue to create a school community where every child is encouraged to learn, grow, and flourish in a safe, supportive, and faith-filled environment.
Please note that I will be on leave for the first two weeks of Term 4. During this time, Miggy Podosky will undertake the role of Acting Principal. I thank Miggy for her leadership and know the school community will be very well supported during my absence.
Enrolments
Planning for 2027 is already well underway.
If your child or children will not be attending St Kilian's in 2027, please notify the school office as soon as possible. This information assists us greatly with future planning and staffing.
If you know of families considering St Kilian's for 2027, we encourage them to contact the school office to discuss enrolment opportunities. Early enquiries are always appreciated.
School Uniform
We ask all families to ensure students wear the correct school uniform each day.
Recently, a small number of non-uniform items have appeared, and staff are working with students to maintain our high expectations. Wearing the school uniform correctly fosters a strong sense of identity, pride, and belonging within our school community.
Uniform items are available through the school and can be ordered via the school uniform link.
School Supervision Hours
Before School
Please note that school grounds are unsupervised before 8:30am. For the safety of all students, children should not arrive before this time unless they are attending a supervised program.
After School
Staff supervision concludes at 3:30pm, and students should be collected promptly at the end of the day. If unforeseen circumstances arise and you expect to be delayed, please contact the school office.
Families requiring care beyond 3:30pm are encouraged to access the YMCA After School Care program, which operates from the school hall.
Parents & Friends Association
Our Parents & Friends Association continues to play a vital role in strengthening our school community through social activities, volunteer support, and fundraising initiatives.
We are grateful for the time and commitment of the many parents who contribute to these events and help foster a strong sense of connection across our school community.
Please refer to the Parents & Friends section of this newsletter for further information.
Catholic School Parents Victoria
Families may be interested in exploring the refreshed Catholic School Parents Victoria (CSPV) website.
CSPV supports parents as partners in their child's learning by strengthening the connection between home and school, while providing information, guidance, and advocacy for families.
The website offers a range of valuable resources designed to help parents feel informed, empowered, and engaged throughout their child's educational journey.

I look forward to seeing all that our children achieve throughout Term 4 and wish every family a positive and successful start to the term.
Kind regards,
Peter Teggelove
