Principal's Message

Andrew Bouzikas

To our Amazing Harvest Home Community...

As we reach the end of Term 2 and Semester 1, I would like to take a moment to reflect on and celebrate the many achievements we have achieved as a school. Throughout the first half of the year, our students have demonstrated a commitment to KAIZEN within their learning, developed relationships that embrace inclusion and connection and embraced every opportunity to grow both academically and socially. These successes are made possible by the dedication of our teaching staff, the support of our families, and the collective effort of our school community to create a positive and engaging learning environment.

Special congratulations go to our Prep students, who have successfully completed their first semester of school. It has been wonderful to see their confidence, independence and love of learning flourish throughout the year. We now look forward to celebrating their upcoming 100 Days of School milestone in Term 3. We also recognise our Year 6 students, who have now reached the halfway point of their final year of primary school. As leaders, our students continue to demonstrate leadership, maturity and a strong sense of responsibility as they prepare for the exciting transition to secondary school next year.

Semester 1 has been filled with rich learning experiences, memorable events and opportunities for students to challenge themselves both inside and outside the classroom. Our Year 3 and Year 5 students demonstrated resilience and determination as they completed NAPLAN, while students across the school embraced important community events such as Harmony Day and ANZAC Day, celebrating inclusion, respect and remembrance. Our student leaders proudly represented our school at the Student Leadership Conference at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, developing their leadership skills alongside students from across the state.

Students also enjoyed a wide range of sporting opportunities, including Cross Country, Athletics Day and interschool sporting events, demonstrating our positive acknowledgements of Being Your Best and showing KAIZEN each time. Throughout the semester, students participated in the Attitudes to School Survey, along with many engaging excursions and incursions that enriched classroom learning. We round out the term with plenty of excitement as students embrace our Socceroos and FIFA World Cup-themed celebrations! Go SOCCEROOS!

As we conclude the semester, I would like to sincerely thank Julia Pena for her dedication and commitment to our school community. Julia has made a positive impact on the educational journey of many students during her time with us, and we are grateful for the care, enthusiasm and professionalism she has brought to her role. We wish Julia every success as she embarks on the next chapter of her teaching journey in Geelong.

We are also excited to welcome Baxter Sparks to our team of dedicated teachers. Baxter will be commencing his teaching career with us, and we look forward to supporting him as he begins this exciting chapter.

On behalf of Harvest Home Primary School, I would like to thank our students, staff and families for their ongoing commitment to ensure "that our students are at the centre of all that we do."

I wish everyone a safe, restful and enjoyable holiday and look forward to another successful semester ahead.

Kind Regards
