From the Principal

St Justin’s Primary School acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia's First People and Traditional Custodians of the land and waterways on which our school stands.
We pay our respects to the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation, and their elders past and present, and emerging as we continue to proudly live and learn on their land.
St Justin's Primary School - Celebrating over 40 years of Catholic Education
Dear Families and Friends,
St Justin's Feast Day
On Tuesday we celebrated the Feast of St Justin, or Justin Martyr (St Justin’s Feast Day is 1st June). As part of our celebrations, we gathered as a community for Mass in our Parish Church. It was a beautiful celebration and we thank all those who were involved. I would especially like to acknowledge our RE Captains Mila and Patrick who helped run the mass on the day, our Performimg Arts Leaders, Phoebe and Albie who led the choir, our wonderful choir for their beautiful singing, the altar servers and readers. It was great to see so many of our St Justin's students involved in this special mass celebration. Thanks Mrs Snell for her leadership in organising this Mass and to Fr Andrew and Fr John for being with us for this special day. We also thank the Parents and Friends for providing us with donuts for morning tea.
Thank you to all who helped make this day special for us all.
Our Parish Prayer
Jesus, help us as we walk our pilgrim way to Heaven.
May St. Justin be our guide.
Grant us his strength of faith and wisdom so we
remain united as one family, growing in love
in our Parish of St. Justin.
St. Justin, pray for us.
First Eucharist
This term our Year 4 students will receive their First Eucharist on Saturday 20th June at our 6.30pm Mass, or Sunday 21st June at our 10.00am Mass, or Sunday 21st June at our 5.00pm Mass.
Please keep our Year 4 students in your prayers as they continue on their faith journey.
Whole School Meditation
Each Monday, St Justin's come together after recess for a whole-school meditation. Following the line-up bell, music will be played as we enter into this special time of reflection from 12:00 pm to 12:10 pm. This provides an opportunity for our students, staff, and wider community to pause, reflect, and enjoy a few moments of stillness.
We kindly ask that anyone visiting or working on the school grounds during this time joins us by observing this period of quiet meditation as a community.
To support this initiative, the school phones will be placed on night switch between 12:00 pm and 12:10 pm each Monday. Callers will be able to leave a message, and calls will be returned as soon as possible after the meditation concludes. In the event of an emergency, Administration staff will always be available to assist.
We thank our school community for supporting this important opportunity to promote mindfulness, wellbeing, and reflection.
Division Cross Country
On Tuesday, 11 students participated in Division Cross Country at Wantirna South. Unforutunaley Kabe in Year 6 was unable to take part due to being injured.
The runners who did part were:
- Under12/13 age group: Sienna, Mia, Ashley and Jensen
- Under 11 age group: Maceo, Haik, Nico and Mia

It was cold and windy morning however we were very fortunate the rain held off. All students should be very proud of how they the performed and to be congratualted for making it to the Division level. It was very tough compeptition with approximately 100 students in each race. A very special congratualtions to our two Under 9/10 boys, Ollie and Jude who finished in the top 10 and have now qualified for the Eastern Region Cross Country next Thursday 11th June.
Ollie finished in 6th postion and Jude finished in 7th! Congraulations to both of these boys and we wish them all the best next Thursday at Regionals.
Thank you to the parents who came along to support our students. I was very proud of how our students performed and thei attitude on the day.
Congratualtions and well done.
Mrs Snell
Winter Has Arrived - Winter Jackets
Winter has certainly arrived, and with the colder temperatures and wet weather upon us, we want to ensure all students remain warm and comfortable throughout the school day.
Students are welcome to wear a puffer jacket, or a rain jacket, to and from school and while outside during recess and lunch times.
We encourage families to ensure that all jackets and other uniform items are clearly named, as this makes it much easier to return any misplaced items to their owners. Can we please ask that we check the names on the jeckets - it's easy for a child to pick up the wrong one without even realsing.
As always, students should continue to wear the correct school uniform underneath their winter jackets.
Thank you for your support in helping our students stay warm during the winter months.

Parking
A reminder to all drivers to please be considerate when parking, ensuring that we park close to the curb and close to driveways, leaving enough room for others to park behind, if possible. We should never park over driveways – not only is it the law, but it is also disrespectful to our neighbours. Safety in and around the school is a responsibility we all share. If parking in the 2 minute zone, please stay with your vehicle – the 2 min zone was never designed for drivers to park and run down to the school.
Thank you for your ongoing cooperation - safety is a responsibility that we all share.
Fair on the Hill
Our Fair on the Hill will be held on Saturday 7th November 2026 (the weekend after the Melbourne Cup - lock it in).
Things are certainly on track and looking good. We are now calling on anyone who might be interested in partnering with us through a sponsorship package. Generous opportunities are provided including Diamond ($2000), Platinum ($1000) and Gold ($500). We also welcome any other donations of goods or cash.
In coming weeks, we will be conducting a Bake Sale with all funds helping offset the cost of the rides - keep an eye on the dates ahead.
We also, as always, warmly welcome any volunteers - whilst many are willing to help on the day, which is always appreciated, we need volunteers to help prepare things for the day.
Please reach out to Mr T if you can help in any way.
As always, thank you for your ongoing support.
All the best for the long weekend - stay safe.
