Principal Message

Dear Families,
Stop Work Action: Thanks to all families who indicated their intentions via the Google Form provided last week. It significantly helped us plan for yesterday. As a system, we thank families for supporting staff who took action, not just for better pay conditions and work conditions, but for the increased and necessary funding of ALL Victorian State school students. If there is to be further actions taken, we will notify the community as soon as we can.
Year 3-6 Cross Country: One of the best events in the PE program will be held this Friday on the magnificent Ocean Grove Beach. The Cross Country event is not to be missed… Mr Horbury will no doubt be watching the weather forecast VERY closely and will make his decision to cancel if needed and we will send an email out ASAP! Please don’t call the office to ask if it is on… If no communication from us – it is ON!
Stranger Danger: It is important that as a community we look out for each other, our young people and have discussions with children about what to do if they encounter an awkward situation. I strongly encourage ALL families to give your children the skills and confidence to identify any situations that are ‘not quite right’ and then act to be safe. If your child encounters anything ‘out of the ordinary’ please report it to police and even let us know. Thanks for keeping the OG kids safe.
Yard Duty supervision: Please be mindful that we provide supervision from 8:45am – 9:00am in the morning and then 3:20pm-3:35pm in the afternoon on school days. We have Their Care running 5 days a week for supervision and care for families and I encourage families to register for the days when you are late, need some extra help or just sometime to get the shopping done without the kids!
Assembly: We will have an assembly this Friday afternoon from 2.30pm. Look forward to seeing families join us to reflect on the last few weeks, celebrate awards and gather as a whole school.
