Principal's Report

We had a wonderful morning at our Easter Parade, with lots of marvellous creations, some of them so good they looked edible!! It was lovely support from our school community, seeing so many friends and family attend and be part of the fun. It really does put a smile on the faces of our students. I would also like to thank our families for supporting the raffle, we raised $1,752 that will go towards a bike/scooter shed near the Foundation playground. Congratulations to those families who won one of the hampers.
As we approach Easter holiday, I want to wish each and every one of you a happy and safe holiday. So much has happened over the first 10 weeks of the school year, including our Foundation students starting 5 days, Harmony Day, Junior Sports, Principal lunches and NAPLAN to name a few, and we are already filling up the calendar for Term 2. School returns in Term 2 on Monday 20th of April.
I am delighted to announce that we have an Auslan teacher starting with us in Term 2, which means all students will be starting Auslan classes from Week 1. Mrs Rasmussen comes to our school with lots of teaching experience, and you can read more about her in the Staffing News below.

Staffing News
Hello! My name is Mrs Rasmussen and I’m so excited to be joining Clyde Primary School in Term 2. I will be joining the Specialist Team as your Auslan Teacher. I learnt Auslan 20 years ago and have been teaching the language for the past 5 years. I was lucky enough to meet some of you today and have already seen lots of signing which is very exciting! Outside of school I love going camping with my husband and 2 children. If you see me around the school, please feel free to have a chat as I look forward to getting to know you all.
Mrs Corneille and her husband are excited to introduce their baby girl, Mackenzie Kate Corneille. We are thrilled for Mrs Corneille and her family.

Year 6 Leaders, Library Visit
by Irene, 2026 English Leader
On Thursday March 26, many of our Year 6 Leaders along with Ms Smith and Mrs Brittain headed to the newly opened Clyde Library. Jill and Kristen (the library staff) were really welcoming as they showed us around the cosy space. All of us were super keen for this visit and had discussed signing up for library memberships with our families, and went, excited to explore the books and borrow for school holiday reading!
While the space is small, the Clyde Library is connected with other libraries in Casey, and staff can arrange for the books you’re after to be brought over for you. This did not stop any of us from finding many interesting books we were keen to explore! After being shown how to use the borrowing system we all took turns and headed back to school, keen for the adventures awaiting us in our borrowed books.
The Clyde Library is open Monday – Friday, 9am til 5pm. After hours book collection is also available. Lego Club runs from 4pm on Tuesdays and anyone is welcome. I would highly recommend this place for anybody looking for a good book.
Here is what some of our other school leaders said:
Prisha – I liked the selection of books available to borrow.
Sofia - I enjoyed exploring different books with my friends.
School Council Update
The School Council met last week for its first meeting of the new school council term.
I am pleased to announce the following positions have been filled"

Sub-committees for Finance, Community Partnerships, and Buildings and Grounds were confirmed.
The 2025 Annual Report to the School Community was presented, feedback incorporated and approved. It will now be submitted to the Department and following ratification, published on the school website.
Our School Council will continue to meet twice per term, subcommittees will meet prior to Council meetings to progress planning and recommendations. Council members are always open to feedback and welcome conversations with members of our school community.
Honouring Our ANZACs
As ANZAC Day approaches, our school is proud to support the ANZAC Day Appeal, an important initiative that raises funds to assist veterans and their families. By purchasing an ANZAC badge or making a donation, you are helping those who have served our country and ensuring they receive the care and support they deserve.
We encourage our school community to get involved by supporting this appeal and taking a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women.
Badges will be available for purchase at the front office from Monday 20th April to Friday 24th April. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference in the lives of veterans and their families.
School Tours
Our 2027 enrolment school tours will begin in Term 2. We will be opening the school to prospective new parents and inviting them to a school tour.
If you know of interested Foundation parents for 2027 please encourage them to ring the office to book a tour.
