Stephen's News

Dear Families,

Congratulations to those Year Three students who participated in the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time yesterday at St Anne’s Church. The services were prayerful and reverent, and the students clearly understood the importance of the occasion. Our school community is so proud of you on this important occasion. We will continue to keep you in our prayers as you grow in faith and love.

We pray that the Year 3 students, with the support of all members of our school community, continue to draw strength and healing from the Sacrament of Reconciliation. May they continue to be living examples of God’s forgiveness in our world as they grow into young adults.

At St Anne’s, we offer a variety of learning opportunities to our students. From interactive learning in English and Maths classes to student-led prayer services and expos, from student-directed Discovery in Prep to fully independent Genius Time projects in Year Six, it is our hope that all students find subject areas in which they can shine. One of the things we are particularly proud of at St Anne’s is our Specialist Program, fueled by some of the most creative and dedicated teachers going around. In Week Four, our spotlight turns to The Arts and STEM with our annual Showcase. We have tweaked the format this year to allow as many people to come as possible.

Grandparents’ Morning is also fast approaching - hopefully the date Friday October 31 has been in your calendar for some time. Grandparents can visit school from 8:30am until about 10:00am (just make sure they are registered via the Trybooking link), please click here. More details to come next week.

Switching the focus to technology and the younger generation, with uncertainty still surrounding the logistics of the upcoming social media restrictions, it is important for parents to continue guiding their young people to make smart choices in their use of technology. Useful resources in this space include:

  • eSafety Kids, where children can learn how to be responsible technology users
  • Wait Mate, which focuses on delaying the introduction of smart phones until high school
  • This LifeWire article which explains how to set up parental controls for Roblox
Not returning to St Anne's in 2026? Please let the Office on 03 8746 6800 know ASAP as we have families on a waiting list.
