Kindergarten Science Spotlight: Push and Pull in Action!
In kindergarten science this week, we’ve been exploring the exciting forces of push and pull—and what better way to bring those ideas to life than with a domino maze challenge!
Students were placed in small groups and asked to create their own domino mazes. The challenge? Design a path that winds around objects or even branches off in different directions! This fun and creative project gave students a hands-on way to explore how a small push can create a chain reaction—one domino at a time.
Each group had the chance to explain their design to the class before testing it out. There were gasps, giggles, and cheers as the dominoes tumbled down in a wave of motion! And if something didn’t work the first time, students collaborated to make adjustments and try again—just like real scientists.
To wrap up the activity, students recorded what happened when their domino maze was set in motion, helping them reflect on what they learned about cause and effect, teamwork, and the forces of push and pull.
Stay tuned for more hands-on science fun!
