Week 8 Update

Week 8 was a fantastic celebration of community, wellbeing and achievement across our school. Ride to School Day was a great success, with many students and staff enjoying an active start to the day. The healthy breakfast was a highlight and thoroughly enjoyed by all—thank you to everyone involved. A big congratulations to our Grades 3 and 5 students for their focus and effort in completing NAPLAN. We are proud of your commitment. We also celebrated Harmony Day, with vibrant activities and a colourful parade that showcased our inclusive and respectful school culture. Well done to everyone for your enthusiastic participation!

Stop Work Action

The Australian Education Union has called on its members to take strike action on Tuesday 24 March 2026. Based upon the information provided to me, 9 of our teaching staff and 3 education support staff will be taking part in the strike action. As a consequence:

  •  Students in Grades - Foundation, Grade 1, Grade 2 and Grade 3 will have a normal program, though there may have to be modifications across the day.
  • Students in Grade 4, Grade 5 and Grade 6 are not required to attend.

If this will cause you difficulties, please get in touch as soon as possible.

SunSmart Policy: Hats On

All students are required to wear their broad brimmed hats, even when playing or participating in activities under any shelters.

Our SunSmart Policy is based upon the Cancer Council guidelines that hats should be worn when UV levels are above 3 on the index (usually around the beginning of September in each year). We source this information from the following website:  www.bom.gov.au/products/UV/Bendigo_VIC.shtml

Please remember that only our school hats may be worn. These can be purchased from the office for $12.

1st September… Hats Remember.

1st May… Hats Away.

Jump Rope for Heart

At assembly Mrs Rogers spoke to the school community about participating in Jump Rope for Heart. Students are able to raise money and may be awarded prizes, information about this has been sent home. Students will have access to skipping ropes at school as part of this.

Ride to School Day

Students and staff participate in Ride to School Day, it was great to see so many students walk, ride of scoot to school. The day started with a healthy breakfast which was held in the centre, the students loved being together and they enjoyed the yummy breakfast. The students that rode, scooted or walked to school were entered into a raffle. Well done to the prize winners. Thanks to Mrs Whitten for organising the day as well as the staff that helped with the breakfast.

Easter Raffle - Egg donations

It's that time again...

We will be running an Easter Egg Raffle this term. That means we will be in need of Easter Egg donations to the office as soon as possible. Our community is so generous in this space, and we thank you in advance for contributing to the prize pool.

Communication

As parents and carers, you will at times need to meet with classroom teachers to clarify classroom programs and sometimes discuss problems that may have arisen. The teachers and Leadership Team will endeavour to meet and discuss any range of school issues as soon as possible, however, please be aware staff meetings occur each Tuesday and Wednesday nights straight after school. There is an assumption all teachers will attend meetings on time. No teacher will dismiss your question or concerns, so calling to organise a time to meet will ensure the question or issue can be addressed with plenty of time and no interruptions. Don’t forget you can always message on ClassDojo, email or call the school on 54 107 700.
