Vocational Education & Training - VET

Rachael Philp - VET Administrator

We are currently just over the halfway mark of the VET year.

Students will receive their end of semester one reports in the mail over the coming few weeks.

At the beginning of term 3 we will be starting the 2026 VET Enrolment Process.

Students in years 10 and 11 will have already brought their VET 2026 Expression of Interest forms home and these are due back to the VET office in the first week of term 3.  Following this, students will be given the enrolment forms or processes that are specific to the Host School and course that they wish to be enrolled into for 2026 and asked to complete their process by specific due dates.

The process is the same for students enrolling in new courses and for those enrolling into a second or third year of a course that they are currently doing.

All forms will have deadline dates assigned to them, and enrolments will be confirmed on a first in first served basis. It is extremely important for all students to return their forms to the VET office in a timely manner to secure a place in a VET course of their choice in 2026.

Each course offered has limits as to the number of students that can enrol and once they are full, they are full.

For students who are not sure what VET course they would like to be enrolled into in 2026, please make a time to pop into the VET office for a chat or talk to your classroom teachers so that we all can make sure that you have a VET course that you really want to attend.

The 2026 Northern Metropolitan VET Cluster Student Handbook will be available for students to borrow and take home to look at the courses that are available from the first week of next term.  Alternatively, the 2026 NMVC Handbook can be accessed via the following QR code.

We are excited to be offering a new VET course in 2026:

Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations.

This will be a great course for students who are not really sure what type of trade they want to do, don’t want to complete a traditional trade offered within the cluster, or for those students who just want to work when they have finished school. It is under the umbrella of Transport and Logistics and some career pathways are in pick packing, warehousing, truck/forklift driver, store/yard person etc. More information about this course can be found on pages 112 and 113 of the VET Handbook, alternatively students are most welcome to pop into the VET office for a chat about this course or any other courses that they may be interested in.

Term 2 in our VET courses have been very busy, below are a few snapshots of students doing their thing:

Second Year Sport, Aquatics and Recreation excursion to the 1000 steps in the Dandenong Rangers.

Second Year Health Services excursion to Torrens University

First Year Sport, Aquatics and Recreation excursion to Rush HQ

A huge thanks to our year 11 student Jamie for volunteering to be a model for two Beauty students and their waxing unit. He had his arms, legs, eyebrows and chest waxed and that is a massive effort so well done and thank you to Jamie.

To Noah and Zayne who graduated last year but returned to have their eyebrows done, again volunteering as models for the Beauty students. (now they are back “on fleek”)
