Year 9

Year 9s’ Significant Contribution to College Music 

Year 9 students make a valuable and vibrant contribution to the musical life of Overnewton Anglican Community College. 

They are active members of rock bands, concert bands, the String Orchestra, and the Year 9 Music Group. Many also played key roles as cast and crew in the College musical We Will Rock You. Two students even attend weekly rehearsals of the Junior School's Stringlings ensemble, where they generously support and assist younger students in their musical development. 

As they move into Senior School, Year 9 students will have further opportunities to contribute as both recognised and informal leaders within the music community. 

In the coming weeks, Year 9 students will take part in Overnewton College’s Festival of Music, themed Light. They will perform in concerts including Luminescent Strings, Winds of Radiance, Shining in Song, and Out of the Blue.
