Year 3 to Year 6
As we came to the end of Reconciliation Week, our Year 5 and Year 6 students enjoyed a friendly lunchtime game of netball. The match was a joyful celebration of togetherness, reflecting the spirit of reconciliation through teamwork, respect, and inclusion. Both players and spectators embraced the opportunity to connect, cheer one another on, and share in a positive community experience.

A particularly special moment in our faith journey was the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation for our Year 3 students. Held in partnership with Xavier Catholic Primary School, this sacred occasion brought together students, families, friends, and staff in a meaningful expression of faith.
The reverent atmosphere provided students with a gentle and supportive environment to experience forgiveness, healing, and renewal—central elements of our Catholic tradition. It was inspiring to witness the way students approached the sacrament with sincerity and reflection, supported by the presence of their families and the wider school community.
Celebrating this sacrament alongside Xavier Catholic Primary School strengthened our shared sense of community and faith, reminding us of the importance of journeying together in spiritual growth.

On Friday, our Year 3 students took part in an exciting and interactive composting incursion. Throughout the session, they explored the amazing world of compost, learning about the many insects and organisms that played a vital role in helping plants grow big, strong, and healthy.
Students had the chance to get up close and personal with worms and other compost creatures, an experience that sparked plenty of curiosity and excitement! Using special lenses attached to their iPads, they captured incredible close-up photos and videos.

It was a fun, engaging, and eye-opening experience, with students gaining valuable knowledge about composting and how they could make a difference both at school and at home.
We were proud to be represented at the Primary School LifeLink Launch held at Corpus Christi College. This significant Archdiocesan event brought together students and staff from across Perth, as well as the Perth Archbishop, Bishop Don (Chairman of LifeLink), and the newly appointed Bishop Nelson.
LifeLink supports vital agencies that care for the most vulnerable members of our community, and the launch served as a powerful reminder of our call to live out our faith through action, compassion, and service to others.
Four of our House Captains represented Salvado Catholic College with pride and maturity. A highlight of the day was Gerard courageously volunteering to ask the Archbishop a thoughtful question about faith, demonstrating confidence and genuine engagement. Opportunities like this inspire our students to deepen their understanding of social justice and encourage them to be active contributors to a more just and compassionate world.
We also congratulate Kaylee Weaire, who proudly represented Salvado Catholic College at Parliament House in Round 2 of the Public Speaking Competition on Friday, 5 June.

Competing against students from across the district, Kaylee delivered a confident and well-researched speech on the topic of the current social media ban, ultimately achieving first place.
This outstanding result reflects Kaylee’s dedication and perseverance, supported by the expert mentoring of Mrs Kerry Browne and the encouragement of Mrs Zoe Rozario. Kaylee’s success is a wonderful achievement for both Kaylee and the College community.
Regards,
Mrs Christine Overing
