TheirCare News

Hi parents, guardians, staff, and friends! Welcome to Week 6 of Term 1.
We would like to begin by acknowledging the Traditional Owners of the land, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation, and pay our respect to their Elders, past, present, and emerging.
Week 6 Woohoo! This week’s theme is “Sports Week”. This week was filled with fun and creativity. We spent our mornings doing origami - the kids loved making different paper plane models! We also did some freestyle drawings. At TheirCare we had our very first down ball competition and it was a blast. We spent our afternoons playing various group games and sports like Floor is Lava, Fruit Salad, Everybody’s It, Gaga ball, soccer, football and cricket. Along with the group games, we also got creative with arts and craft activities - we designed our own sports jerseys and did Q-tip baseball painting. It was lovely to see the kids demonstrating creativity, fine motor skills, concentration and perseverance skills. On the handball courts we did some creative art murals using colourful chalk to create our murals.
This week we’re excited to have the preps at TheirCare on Wednesdays. The numbers have been massive with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday having over 18 prep students attending. The preps are doing great settling in at TheirCare and making new friends.
Pupil of the Week
This week’s Pupil of the Week is Otis Carter for always being an awesome helper, always using his manners and being friendly with other children and staff. Well done Otis! You should be very proud of yourself.
TC Tucker
This week for our TC Tucker we had pizza bagels which the children loved! Instead of having pizza for afternoon tea next Monday we will have ravioli. We would like to encourage all families to please submit any recipes they would like us to try.
Mad Fun Autumn Holiday Program
As we are halfway through this term, that means we are getting closer to our MAD FUN Autumn Holiday Program. This upcoming holiday program we have two weeks of fun going to see the Minecraft movie, going to Kaboom Sports and Werribee Zoo. We also have two incursions, laser tag and making bubbles. Who’s excited?
Announcement
We would like to let all families know that we are currently doing a medical audit. If your child/children have medical conditions, please know that we need their updated medication and medical documents. This week we will be handing out a white envelope that has a pre-filled risk minimisation plan in it. Can you please sign and return it to us. As it is a compliance document, unfortunately, we will have to suspend your accounts if they are not returned.
We would like to let all families know that bookings for the holiday program are now open. Please make sure to book as early as possible. As our numbers for the holiday program are limited. Flyers will be available at TheirCare next week or alternatively you can access them online. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
For all families – if you have any questions about TheirCare and would like to come and have a chat, please visit us in the Dingo Building (Gallery Space) in the morning or afternoon. Alternatively, you can contact us on the details provided and we will be happy to help you.
