Mother's Day

Gallery Image

Mother’s Day allows us to celebrate the incredible women who play such an important role in the lives of our boys. Whether they are mothers, grandmothers, aunties, step‑mothers, carers, or motherly figures, these women provide the love, guidance, and encouragement that help shape boys into confident, compassionate young men.

In boys’ education, the influence of a strong, nurturing female presence is profound. Mothers model empathy, resilience, and emotional connection, qualities that help boys understand themselves and build healthy relationships. They celebrate achievements, steady them through challenges, and remind them of their worth, even on the days they doubt it most.

What makes these mothers and motherly figures more incredible is they do all this while managing the real daily marathon: rescuing mysteriously disappearing lunchboxes, identifying unclaimed uniform items, and running the unofficial taxi service. Their ability to juggle schedules, snacks, and sporting gear, often all before 8am, is nothing short of heroic.

Mother’s Day is a chance for our boys to pause and appreciate these countless acts of care, both seen and unseen.

At Trinity College, we are deeply grateful for the partnership we share with families, and we recognise the vital role mothers and motherly figures play in guiding boys from childhood to young adulthood. Their presence strengthens our community and enriches the lives of every boy in our care.

To all mothers and motherly figures, thank you for the love you demonstrate towards your son and the impact you have on him every day.

We wish you a very happy Mother’s Day.

God Bless,

Mr James McPherson

Our Junior School Cross Country event at Waterford was held in excellent condition, and it was wonderful to hear how well the day unfolded. Although I was unfortunately unable to attend, the staff shared that it was fantastic to see so many parents come out to support the boys, who all gave the course their very best effort. Congratulations to our winning House and to the individual placegetters listed below. A sincere thank you to Mr Thompson for his organisation of the event, which showcased a terrific display of sportsmanship throughout.

Pink Sock Round

Gallery Image

Thursday, 14 May

A reminder to all families that on Thursday 14 May, the Junior School will proudly take part in our annual Pink Sock Round, a tradition that has become a strong and meaningful part of life at the College.

Students are encouraged to add a touch of pink to their sport uniform and bring along a gold coin donation in support of this important cause. Pink Sock Round was initiated by 2016 Head Prefect Lochie Taylor, and we continue to honour his legacy by supporting women’s health and raising awareness within our community.

As Lochie shared: “Through Pink Sock Day we hope to support women’s health, focusing on our mothers and all the women who encourage us through school and life in general. At the same time, we aim to educate our young Trinity men to demonstrate a greater awareness and appreciation towards women’s health. Most importantly we aim to raise money to place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia.”

Over the past nine years, the College community has raised more than $27,000 for this cause. This year, we are aiming to reach the incredible milestone of $30,000, and we invite all families to help us achieve this goal.

Thank you for your continued support of a cause that holds deep significance for many within our community.

Individual Student and Class Photos

A reminder that student individual and class photos will take place in Week 5, Wednesday 20 May.

Students are required to attend in full Winter Uniform, including their blazer. If your son has sport scheduled on this day, he must still arrive at school in his Winter Uniform and bring his sports uniform to change into later. To help avoid any confusion, there will be no Year 5/6 JPSSA sport training that morning.

We kindly ask that all students meet the College’s expectations for uniform and personal presentation. Please ensure that:

  • Uniforms are worn correctly and neatly.

  • Shoes are black leather school shoes, polished and well maintained.

  • Hair is clean, neat, and conservatively styled in accordance with College guidelines.

As a reminder, hairstyles should be tidy and of an appropriate length, not covering the collar, ears, or eyes, and should not include extreme or non-conventional styles or colouring.

The College expects the highest standards of uniform, personal presentation, and general appearance at all times. Full details can be found in the student diary.

Thank you for your support in ensuring students are well presented for photo day.
