Congratulations to Cooper Belsham, Steward Oling, Alex Ingham and Jack Morgan for being part of the U16s Warragul Industrials Premiership Team. Well done to Alex Ingham who received Dusties U16s Best and Fairest and to Steward Oling who received Runners Up Best and Fairest.

Well done to Paul Gatpan, Steward Oling and Keenan Boi who played for the Hawks Next Generation Academy Team against the Bulldogs. Keenan Boi received Best on Ground on the day - congratulations Keenan!

State Combine

Year 12 student Brodie Atkins has been named in the top small prospects for this year's AFL draft after also competing in the State Combine. Well done, Brodie!

Congratulations to Lexie Jackson, Shayla Smith, Tayley Reaper and Assistant Coach Callum Ross (Year 12) for winning the recent VJBL Grand Final, representing Gippsland United.

Recently, Year 7 students Keira Ingham and Taylah Chapman won the Korumburra Basketball Tournament in their age group. The girls were undefeated throughout the tournament - well done girls!

LSA Head Netball Coach Miss Stacie Gardiner recently re-signed to Gippsland Stars VNL Team for 2026.

NETBALL – LSA WELCOMES MJ TO COACHING CHAIN

Recently, local football club Drouin Hawks announced the signing of professional Netballer, Mwai Kumwenda (MJ) for 2026. MJ has the ultimate level of netball experience, playing in two Commonwealth Games, the 2015 Netball World Cup and also competed in Australia’s Elite League Grand Final, representing the Melbourne Vixens and receiving MVP for the match.

 

We have been lucky to secure MJ in a coaching capacity at the college in 2026!

Soccer Achievements 

Congratulations to Year 9 soccer students Miley Cooper, Summer Cooper, Yasmine Dickson and Indee Ryan who recently represented the LVSL U16 Girls at the Mt Eliza Cup. The girls won the Grand Final in their age division, with Summer scoring two goals and Miley scoring one goal in the final.

Congratulations to Zekiya Glibanovic, Virginia Daley and Taylah Voumard who have recently been selected to play in the U17s Girls 2026 State Titles alongside Chloe van den Dolder who was selected to be a training partner. Well done girls!

Cricket - Girls Make It to State!

In October, some of our Year 9 LSA girls represented Lowanna College at Gippsland Cricket. Winning both games against Lavalla Catholic College and Nagle College the girls have advanced to the state level. Well done, girls!

Gippsland Basketball Results  

Our Year 7, 8 and Intermediate Girls Basketball teams all had a successful day with the Year 7 girls and Intermediate Girls making it to the State Finals. Well done to all!

Nutrition

Recently, we had Nutritional Therapist Danielle Purvis from Standout Nutrition work with our students individually, providing them with knowledge about nutrition intake as athletes and giving them feedback on their personal diets. Thank you for supporting our students, Danielle.

Student Diaries

All students have been provided with a Sports Academy diary, which they use to record weekly goals, gratitude, homework and daily reminders for all subjects and events. 

 

The diary is a great learning tool and we would love parents to take an interest in students' homework, learning tasks and everything else that is going on at school.
