End of Term

School Academic Reports for this first semester will be available on Compass late on Monday 24th June. They are published digitally, so families can print as many copies as they want, as well as save them for the future. Parents will be sent a Compass notification late on Monday when they have been published.

A reminder that next Friday 28th of June is the last day of Term 2. Students will be dismissed at 2:30pm. Term 3 begins on Monday 15th of July.

Families are invited into classrooms to watch our Term 2 episode of Clyde TV. It will be shown at 9am on the last day of term.

We also have our Whole School Assembly at 2:45pm this Monday 24th of June.

3 Way Conferences are scheduled for Thursday 27 of June.

Foundation Excursion

Our very excited Foundation students hopped on the bus today and headed to Myuna Farm. There, they learnt about the farm animals, their life cycles, animal needs and animal behaviour. Each group of students went to a farm show, which included goat milking, they got to touch some of the animals in the nursery and went on the train ride to the the wetlands to learn about it's ecosystem. What a terrific day out!

Gaga Ball

Thanks the the fundraising efforts of our families in 2023, (particularly the Colour Fun

Run), we were able to purchase two gaga pits, which were installed last Friday. This caused much excitement, as many of our senior students have played Gaga Ball at school camps. This week, students from Years 3-6 were given opportunities to learn the rules and expectations on how to play fairly. Students in junior levels will learn about the game too, in their PE lessons next week.

So what is Gaga Ball? It is a very simple game where up to 20 people can play at once and doesn't require any special skill or athletic ability, which is what makes it so appealing.

What hat are the rules of Gaga Ball?

All players start the game by holding on to the edges of the pit
1 player standing in the middle throws the ball up in the air
When the ball bounces once everyone yells "Ga"
When the ball bounces twice everyone yells "GaGa" and can rush to the ball to hit it with their hand aiming to knock out other players
If a player is hit on the waist or below they are out
If a player hits the ball out of the pit they are out
If a player who exited catches a ball on the fly out, they can re-enter the game
You cannot pickup the ball
You cannot kick the ball as this counts as below the waist contact and means you are out
You can dribble the ball for just 3 seconds
Last player is the winner

Baby News

Congratulations to Mr Chris Legge and his partner on the birth of their son. They welcomed Archer to the world on Sunday 16th of June.

NAIDOC Week

National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nation cultures and histories, and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. NAIDOC Week was curated by the National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee, in order to bring together different cultures across Australia and celebrate their achievements. At Clyde Primary School, we celebrate NAIDOC Week on the first week back of Term 3. Throughout the week, students will participate in lessons and activities around Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture within their classrooms.
