A Proud Week for students and parents!

Dear parents and carers,
It is hard to believe we are coming to the end of first term with only one week to go. Reflecting on this week, Wednesday represented one of our biggest and proudest assembly's of the calendar year. We were fortunate to have Paul Edbrooke visit on Wednesday morning to present our School Council Representative (SRC) and school captains with their badges. It is a significant moment for our school and the number of parents attending for the presentation is growing each year.
Watching the students proudly come up to receive their badges was a really special moment. The excitement of the parents was equally special. Throughout Wednesday I passed a number of students wearing their badges and with the biggest smiles.
I regularly visit the younger students in class and I enjoy seeing how our new students have settled into school life. PLC1 are continuing to have fun whilst they learn about sharing, taking turns and collaboration during developmental play sessions each week. PLC2 have been learning about 2D shapes and spent an afternoon at Ballam Park this week playing games and having fun together.
With the Flower and Garden Show on this weekend our students in the Certificate 2 Horticulture program will be heading into the city for the event today.
Finally, with me stepping into the principal role, we advertised for a short term Assistant Principal to fill the gap. I am please to let you all know that Susana Leiva, one of our section leaders has been successful in filling this role until the middle of the year. It is an exciting time for Susana and Naranga School. We will be seeing Susana more than ever in the office area.
