Musical Joke of the Week

How many dance teachers does it take to change a light bulb?...  Five! Six! Seven! Eight!

Dancing Through the Decades!

For the remainder of the term, we will be exploring the exciting world of dance!

We have been learning about a variety of dance styles from around the world, including hip hop, jazz, ballet, and salsa. Along the way, we will also be learning about some popular dance crazes like the Macarena, the Floss, and the iconic Nutbush!

As part of our learning, students have been looking at the history behind the Nutbush dance—a uniquely Australian tradition that comes from Tina Turner’s hit song “Nutbush City Limits.” Although the dance wasn’t created by Turner herself, it has become a much-loved routine in Australian schools and community events, passed down through generations. Students have been enjoying learning the steps and understanding how this dance has become a cultural favourite!

Through movement, rhythm, and creativity, our students can express themselves, build confidence, and have lots of fun. It’s going to be a joyful journey of music, motion, and discovery!

Singing, dancing and signing off!
