St Carlo Acutis - Pray for Us

Next month, Catholics across Sydney - RANDWICK - will have a special opportunity to venerate a relic of St Carlo Acutis.

St Carlo is the first millennial saint and a young man whose love for Jesus inspired people around the world. The Archdiocese of Sydney will host a major relic of St Carlo as part of its Australian tour, giving families, students and parish communities the chance to learn more about this remarkable teenager and his faith-filled life.

Born in 1991, St Carlo used his gifts in technology to share the Catholic faith, creating websites that documented Eucharistic miracles and Marian apparitions. Despite living in the digital age, he reminded young people that holiness is possible for everyone and famously said, “All people are born as originals, but many die as photocopies.”

While some of our Year 4 and Year 5 students will have an opportunity to visit the relic next term, we encourage our students and families to learn about St Carlo’s life and his deep devotion to the Eucharist. His example shows that young people can make a real difference in the world by using their talents for good, serving others, and placing Christ at the centre of their lives.

Staying Safe Online

As we approach our Spring Holidays, we know that while this means more time outside enjoying being active and busy - for many children it also means more time online.

Families can support their children by encouraging open conversations about online activities, setting clear expectations for device use and reminding children never to share personal information such as their full name, address, password or school details online.

Students should remember to:

  • Be kind and respectful when communicating online.

  • Keep personal information private.

  • Tell a trusted adult if something online makes them feel uncomfortable, worried or unsafe.

  • Think carefully before sharing photos, videos or comments.

  • Only use apps, websites and games that have been approved by their parents or carers.

Remember:  If in doubt, stop, block and tell a trusted adult. For more information contact the esafety commission.
