NEWS FROM THE SENIORS

In Religious Education, we have been learning about saints and Australian heroes and the qualities that made them inspiring people.

We learnt that being a hero or a saint isn’t just about doing something amazing. It can be about showing faith, courage, kindness, compassion, perseverance and putting others before ourselves.

We each chose a saint or Australian hero to learn more about and then created a triarama to show who they were, what they did and the qualities they demonstrated.

Through this activity, we have also thought about how we can show these same qualities in our own lives and live out our Catholic values every day.

MELBOURNE STAR ROADSHOW CRICKET INCURSION

We were lucky enough to have the Melbourne Star Roadshow visit us on Monday.  The 3-6 were given the chance to brush up on their cricket skills and have a Q & A with the representatives.  One of the representatives was Harry Hoekstra, Eliza Hughes' son and grandson of Lachie Hughes (retired St Lauries PE teacher), and former student of the school. It was lovely to have Harry visit us in his role as a team member with the Melbourne Stars.
