Principal's Report
Welcome back to all our students, staff and parents to Term 3 at Gardenvale PS, which we are sure will be a busy but most rewarding term!
I hope, if you have also been able to have a break, you're feeling refreshed and ready for a great term which will include many highlights, some of which are: -

- Year 4 – 6 House Athletics Carnival – Duncan MacKinnon Reserve – Friday 1st August
- Whole School Book Parade – Friday 29th August
- School Disco - Friday 12th September
- Whole School Footy Day – Friday 19th September
I am sure many members of our community would have heard of the attempted abduction of a 10-year-old boy at Hurlingham Park last Saturday. Fortunately, the child is safe, but this incident is a serious reminder of the importance of vigilance and safety in our community.
As a staff, we are continuing to be especially vigilant during yard duty and other supervision times. Class teachers have also spoken to their students about ‘stranger danger’, reinforcing the importance of staying safe and knowing how to respond in uncertain situations.
We encourage families to talk to their children at home about personal safety and to remind them to stay alert and report anything suspicious to a trusted adult.
Student Vs Staff Netball Match
On the last day of Term 2 we were all thoroughly entertained watching the Student versus Staff Netball Match. There were some spectacular skills on display from both teams. Even though one of the teams did have a bit of a height advantage the scores were very close. The staff did emerge victorious!
Accessible Buildings Works
The Accessible Buildings Works at the Junior Campus are progressing well and are on track for completion within the next four weeks. Currently, classes 2C and 2D are operating from the Hall to accommodate ongoing works, but they are expected to return to their classrooms next week.
Year 4 to 6 House Athletics Carnival
The 2025 Year 4 – 6 Gardenvale Athletics Carnival is being held Friday 1st August at Duncan Mackinnon Reserve commencing at 9.30am. Parents and grandparents are most welcome to join us on this special day. Children need to wear suitable footwear, dress in house colours, and be ready for all sorts of weather and have something warm to wear throughout this special sporting event.
Face Masks
We have a plentiful supply of face masks, if you would like a box, please collect from either office.
