From the Principal

Our hearts go out to the Auburn South Primary School community, the families, students, teachers, and all those affected by this week’s tragedy. May we hold their community in our thoughts, finding hope in the connection and kindness that help us all heal.
This also serves as a reminder of how precious our children’s lives are. We urge everyone to take extra care around our school, especially during drop-off and pick-up times. Please park safely and avoid asking children to cross the street to reach your car. Let’s take the time to ensure their safety—it’s worth every moment.
On Tuesday night, we held a School Council meeting, with a primary focus on ratifying the Parent Payments and Draft Budget for 2025. We are incredibly grateful for your support, whether through committee involvement, fundraising, or participation in school activities. Together with your financial contributions, your engagement plays a vital role in the programs, resources, and learning spaces we can offer now and into the future.
This year, parent contributions through the Other Contributions, Building and Library Funds have helped the school maintain buildings and grounds, install undercover walkways, and develop the Kangaroo Garden (Sensory Garden) and the GEM Centre (Library). Thank you for helping us create the best possible environment and experience for our students. To read the President's report please go to the From the School Council page.
Parents' Association
We are grateful to the PA for organising a morning tea and providing coffee cards for our wonderful teaching staff—a truly thoughtful gesture.
Aussie of the Month
Congratulations to Maya S (1K) for being named this month’s Aussie of the Month! Maya is truly deserving of this recognition as a community-minded student who is inclusive of everyone. Well done, Maya!
Congratulations to Layan E (6D) on her outstanding performance at the 2024 Junior State Championships! Layan achieved 1st Overall, 1st in Ribbon, 2nd in Ball, and 1st in Freehand. Fantastic job, Layan!
If your child will be leaving at the end of the year, please let us know in writing as soon as possible.
If you have specific social, emotional, or learning requests or things for us to consider when placing your child in a class, please email me by Friday November 8. Please be aware that we do not take requests for teachers.
